Are you a strategic leader with strong business acumen, technology affinity, and the ability to shape digital transformation in a complex matrix environment?
We are looking for a BTS Director for LBU Germany to act as the strategic technology partner for the General Manager and the Affiliate Management Team. In this role, you will lead the local BTS agenda, ensure technology investments support business priorities, and help shape the affiliate’s digital and data roadmap.
This is a high-impact leadership position with broad responsibility across business, technology, operations, and people leadership. You will help connect local business needs with AbbVie’s global technology strategy, ensure compliant and secure solutions, and drive measurable value across the affiliate.
Your impact
- Partner with senior business leaders to translate strategy into technology priorities
- Lead the local BTS organization and act as a key member of the management team
- Shape and manage the affiliate technology roadmap, portfolio, and investments
- Ensure reliable, secure, compliant, and cost-effective delivery of BTS capabilities
- Drive digital transformation and support the adoption of enterprise solutions
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and influence effectively across a matrix organization
- Lead and develop the local BTS team, with a focus on capability, accountability, and growth
- Contribute to ongoing organizational change and help the business adapt with agility
What you bring
- In-depth experience in business and/or BTS
- Strong leadership experience, ideally in complex, cross-functional environments
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders without direct authority
- Strong business understanding and the ability to connect strategy, operations, and technology
- Experience in transformation, organizational change, and stakeholder management
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to tell a compelling business story
- Confidence working in international and culturally diverse environments
- A mobility mindset, with willingness to travel internationally as needed
What success looks like
In this role, you will help ensure that technology choices are aligned with AbbVie’s global direction, support local execution, and avoid fragmented or non-standard solutions. You will bring clarity, structure, and leadership to a fast-moving environment where priorities evolve and strong partnership is essential.

Where We Work
Role is primarily site- or office-based but can occasionally be performed remotely. Employees who are site/office-based and can occasionally perform their role virtually work both in the office and remotely*, following the policies and regulations in place at their location. US Employees must be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Three days in the office is the minimum; some individuals or teams may require more in-office days due to meetings, business/project needs or their role.
