Job Description

The Brazil Finance Director provides financial leadership to the Brazilian entity and business areas, playing a key strategic role in establishing and achieving financial objectives, as well as in formulating and executing on business strategies. This role partners with the Affiliate Leadership Team to balance long-term strategies with near-term business needs, while ensuring assertive profitability management to sustain operations and enable growth opportunities.

Additionally, is responsible for ensuring that internal controls are in place to adequately safeguard the company’s assets and to ensure that the company’s financial reporting and general business practices are in compliance with company financial policies, official requirements and generally accepted accounting principles.

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Affiliate Leadership Team, Area Finance Director and Centers of Excellence platforms to meet worldwide financial commitments by providing financial insights and recommendations that will lead to effective business decisions.
  • Be an active and integral member of the Affiliate Leadership Team, which includes presenting the financial performance results, providing advice and support to the other team members, being actively involved in the decision-making process, contributing to the development and implementation of the business strategy.
  • Act cross functionally to contribute to business strategies and execute deliverables with agility and compliance, pursuing innovative solutions whenever connected to business needs growth opportunities.
  • Enable investment opportunities while pushing for effective resourcing maximization opportunities with focus on profitability and health financial and P&L drivers.
  • Analyze business agreements and general contracts to ensure they make sound financial and business sense.
  • Ensure that financial controls are in place to provide adequate protection of the Brazilian affiliate’s assets and for the accurate and timely reporting of financial results in compliance with company policies and regulated reporting requirements. Brazil Affiliate operates under SoX environment.
  • Acting as Host, actively manage the Allergan Aesthetics operations and relevant relationships across all finance functions.
  • Oversee the complete financial planning and finance operations at entity level, leading a team of 30+ dedicated finance professionals, while guiding and overseeing Centers of Excellence (Tax, Treasury, Financial Shared Services and Procurement) supported by external BPO in core transactional areas. Supply and Operations are also part of FD influencing scope, as well as Facilities, Fleet and EHS, to ensure strategies are properly executed and under business expectations.
  • Closely work with the Tax CoE to ensure deep understanding of the specificities of the Brazilian Tax environment and incorporate these aspects in the daily decision-making process.  
  • Lead the preparation of the annual Long-Range Plan, annual Plan, and Latest Best Estimates to ensure that they are achievable and consistent with overall business strategies.
  • Lead a solid S&OP process to ensure strong alignment with Supply and Operations
  • Ensure that the analytical and reporting requirements are met in a high quality and timely manner.
  • Create an environment that attracts, retains, and motivates a diverse and highly talented team.
  • Select, coach, develop individuals for high performance and ensure that the Brazilian finance organization is adequately staffed with highly competent individuals.

Qualifications

  • A degree in accounting, finance, economics or equivalent is required (Master’s Degree or equivalent experience is desirable).
  • Minimum 10-15 years of relevant experience in finance management with broad exposure to all aspects of financial planning, performance analysis, internal controls, and business partnering.
  • Engaged on data driven analytics, tools, and agility initiatives with simplicity mindset.
  • Skilled on talent management with focus on building and sustaining diverse and high performing teams.
  • Skilled on building cross functional relationships with strategic mindset.
  • Assertive communication and storytelling skills.
  • Able to navigate in complex environment and
  • Fluency in English is a must. Portuguese and/or Spanish is desirable.
  • Mobility to live outside Brazil is required as part of Finance career path.
