Job Description

We have an opportunity for Brand Manager, AbbVie Care to join our Patient Experience team. The focus of this position is strategic brand management and tactical implementation of core strategies with a strong emphasis on digital responsibilities. The Brand Manager will also be responsible for enriching the patient experience by leading and understanding insights across Brand Teams and evolving the patient journey for to focus on delivery of patient-centric strategies. The Brand Manager will operate within AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies and all applicable laws and regulations across Canada. 

The incumbent will report to Programs and Marketing Lead, AbbVie Care.    

This role is based out of our St. Laurent offices in Montreal. 

Key Responsibilities:

Insights

  • Lead synthesis of insights from cross-functional teams and brand teams to determine program positioning. Leverage market research and insights collection to inform the patient journeys for each asset.
  • Facilitate and synthesize cross-stakeholder discussions to strengthen insights; collaborate with AbbVie Care Management team and brand team colleagues to engage critical opinion leaders from all customer groups to ensure competitive positioning and market dynamics.

Patient Journey

  • Develop robust and accurate patient journeys for all assets within AbbVie Care, facilitating workshops to securing input & cross-stakeholder viewpoints with a patient-centric focus.
  • Propose Strategic Objectives for Brand Team review based on findings from the patient journeys; challenge and critique Brand Team strategies to ensure patient-centricity.

Brand story and guardianship

  • Lead the development of marketing inputs to the strategic brand plan, securing appropriate budget to deliver marketing objectives.
  • Become ‘guardian of the brand’ and bring the Brand Story to life by ensuring that all functional deliverables, including Marketing materials and campaigns, remain consistent with branding and deliver emotional messages aligned to the Brand Story.
  • Work with team on tactical implementation of program tools and messaging.
  • Manage and appropriately spend advertising and promotional budgets to prioritize growth opportunities while considering cost containment measures.
  • Monitor marketing initiatives Key Performance Indicators and communicate them regularly. Propose tactical adjustments as needed.
  • Coordinate the activities of functional areas, advertising agencies and suppliers. Develop and maintain a continuous feedback loop with internal and external customers to inform Brand decisions. Work closely with all functional areas including trade, market access, training, marketing, community relations, CHE team, and all other stakeholders.
  • Respond to field team requests in a timely manner and encourage ongoing communications.
  • Oversee the development of all promotional (traditional and digital) pieces and messaging including patients support materials in close collaboration with the Community Relations team.

Multi-channel expertise and strong digital focus

Optimize channel mix for marketing and cross-functional campaigns

Guide the design and implementation of all marketing activities to include:

    • Cross-channel opportunities to strengthen campaigns
    • Innovative Marketing tactics to deliver holistic solutions
    • Traditional and non-traditional partnerships.
    • Multi-channel opportunities to strengthen campaigns
    • Multi-stakeholder initiatives

Stay up-to-date with digital marketing trends and technologies, recommending actionable improvements to strategy and execution

Lead digital initiatives such as websites, portals etc. from concept to execution, managing timelines, budgets, and deliverables.

Consolidate the 1-year tactical Brand Plan, collecting inputs from cross-functional colleagues.


Qualifications

Education / Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, Commerce or Marketing, or any related field
  • Pharmaceutical sales experience (minimum 2 years)
  • 3 to 5 year of brand management experience preferred
  • Patient Support Program marketing experience preferred
  • Experience in integrated multi-channel marketing including print, digital, face-to-face, social media and digital advertising

Essential skills & abilities:

  • Understanding of Canadian Healthcare environment and evolving landscape
  • Strong project management skills
  • Proven track record of innovative accomplishments
  • English and French must be at advanced level, oral and written
  • Proficient in using MS Office Suite and all related new technologies in relationship to the role and the work environment.

This position entails 5-10% of travel within Canada and possibly occasional travel outside Canada. A valid passport is required.
