Job Description

We are looking for a Biologics Maintenance Team Lead to join our engineering team in Ballytivnan, Sligo.  This position reports to the Biologics Engineering Manager. Our Maintenance Team work closely with Operations, Quality and other functions to maintain our equipment, facilities and utilities to keep the plant running smoothly and efficiently.  

As a Biologics Maintenance Team Lead, you will be responsible for providing team leadership and direction to the maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity if you are willing to learn and grow your career in an expanding Biologics Facility.  

Roles and Responsibilities 

  • Provide team leadership and direction to the maintenance team committing to delivering equipment, utilities and a facility suitable for aseptic fill finish manufacturing and formulation of biologics. 
  • Assist in building and growing the maintenance organization through the development of the Maintenance Excellence Program (MEP) utilising CMMS – Maximo.  
  • Support key manufacturing personnel for unit manufacturing and aseptic filling operations, lead continuous project improvements, approve protocols, and other technical documents.  
  • Participate in the interpretation of data and collaboration with other departments.  
  • Implement all relevant policies and procedures relating to Safety, Quality, Engineering & Personnel. 
  • Ensure that the plant meets its safety, quality, customer service and inventory management goals through the effective management of plant resources. 
  • Lead the maintenance function for all process equipment and ensure MEP requirements are achieved. 
  • Responsible for presenting and taking ownership of own area during regulatory inspections and corporate audits. 
  • Support the introduction of new products and drive continuous improvement. 
  • Accountable for driving strategic goals within the department. 
  • Develop and build the skills of the maintenance group. 
  • Complete other responsibilities as directed. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Science or relevant discipline desirable  
  • Diploma/Trade qualification in suitable science/engineering course.  
  • 5+ years experience in the engineering environment of a Biologics or Pharmaceutical manufacturing company.
