The candidate will be working in the pilot scale facility supporting AbbVie’s Biologics Development and Manufacturing business. The candidate will join the cell culture team and will primarily be responsible for supporting upstream activities (i.e. cell culture), but may also support downstream activities (i.e. capture/purification) and in a limited capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generation of GLP-tox drug substance/intermediate to support preclinical activities
- Evaluation, development, and implementation of novel manufacturing technologies (e.g. perfusion cell-culture, continuous processing, process intensification, PAT, etc.)
- Scale-up and tech transfer of biological processes to GMP production
- Author, review, and execution of GLP batch records
- Communicate project status with wider team
- Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, appropriate handling of materials, controlled drug and radioactive compounds, and GxP compliance
- Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent education, in relevant field (Biology, Chem Engineering, etc.) with typically 3 or more years’ experience or Master’s Degree or equivalent education (no additional experience).
- Strong problem-solving skills, scientific acumen, critical thinking, and attention to detail
- Theoretical and practical knowledge to carry out job function.
- Previous experience with cell culture preferred.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
