Purpose
The Associate Director, Benefits Operations role is a pivotal leadership position that reports directly to the Director, People Operations & Enablement within the HR Operations and Payroll organization. In this capacity, you will lead and inspire the Benefits Operations Team, a dynamic group responsible for seamless management and administration of benefit programs across The United States and Puerto Rico. Your leadership will focus on fostering building and sustaining a high performing team, creating an environment of innovation, constantly exploring new ways to enhance our services delivery across retirement, health & welfare, leave/disability, and well-being benefit programs.
As a visionary leader, you’ll collaborate with internal teams and external benefit vendors to elevate support for benefits operations and ensure comprehensive internal and external reporting. You’ll work closely with key global business partners to optimize the experience for employees, retirees, and new hires as they engage with our benefit programs.
Responsibilities
- Program Management – Leads the administration of various employee benefits programs, ensuring they run efficiently and deliver high-quality service, ensure compliance with relevant regulations and best practices. Support and/or lead implementations of new or changing benefit programs or administrative processes.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration – Works collaboratively with key business partners and functions internally and externally to ensure alignment of operations with business needs and priorities.
- Process Improvement – Drives initiatives for continuous improvement in operations and service delivery, identifying opportunities and making recommendations to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and employee/retiree/new hire experience, internally and via vendor partners.
- Innovation and Detail-Oriented Approach – Demonstrates willingness to dive into details to identify opportunities for innovation, improvement and uncovering areas for growth
- Vendor Management – Oversees relationships with outsourced benefit vendors, ensuring effective and reliable services including adherence to SLAs, quality targets and key performance indicators. Engage with global service delivery teams and COEs as necessary to support operations, escalate service issues and to raise the bar on vendor performance.
- Team Leadership – Provides direction and management to HR Benefits Operations Team, fostering a supportive environment that empowers team members and enhances team performance. Coach and mentor other HRConnect team members.
- Customer Support Focus – Maintains a high level of customer support, ensuring benefits inquiries and issues are resolved efficiently and satisfactory. Skillfully handle and manage sensitive employee escalations.
- Leadership Subject Matter Expertise – Serves as the subject matter expert and point of contact for leadership on matters related to retirement, benefits, leaves, and other related areas. Provide guidance and insights to support leadership decision making.
- System Oversight – Oversees the administration and maintenance of benefits management systems and vendor partnerships, emphasizing ongoing enhancement and optimization.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, finance, or a related field. An advanced degree, such as an MBA or a master’s in human resource management is preferred.
- 10-15 years of experience in Benefits administration and HR Operations support.
- Strong knowledge of employee benefits programs, including health, welfare, retirement and leave programs.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills to address complex benefits issues and develop effective solutions.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using HR information systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees, management and external vendors.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively with different departments.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position.
