Associate Director, Retina Marketing
The Associate Director, Retina Marketing, will be responsible for a variety of workstreams and gain marketing experience across a broad set of competencies. The Associate Director will develop and execute strategic marketing plans, conduct analytics and demonstrate broad brand stewardship for the Retina franchise. They will support business planning and tactical execution for current in-line brand, OZURDEX®, and contribute to the US launch readiness and commercialization strategy for future product launches.
The Associate Director will demonstrate business and financial acumen and be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing data to generate impactful insights that shape brand strategy. The ability to collaborate and influence across multiple cross functional stakeholders will be critical to the role.
Main Areas of Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead execution of strategic marketing plans. Translate insights to strategies, strategies to execution and execution to measurement.
- Create and deliver marketing assets. Partner across functions to pull through insights, voice of customer, voice of field etc. to create and/or enhance marketing tools and resources. Lead marketing materials through the approval process for via close collaboration with Legal, Compliance, Regulatory, and Medical. Measure marketing impact of tools and resources and adjust course as needed.
- Prepare forecast assumptions. Help direct summary-level market, unit demand and sales forecasts for both on market and pre-launch Retina brands. Prepare commercial support and presentations for forecasting cycles.
- Conduct business performance analysis on a regular and ad-hoc basis. Diagnose obstacles to brand growth and work collaboratively to provide solutions.
- Collaborate across partners to build, manage and execute strategic solutions to address procurement and access complexities of the buy and bill process.
- Optimize commercial deployment of patient access programs, developing and maintaining rep delivered promotional tools for the patient savings program.
- Present regularly to cross-functional team and to senior leadership regarding brand planning, performance and analytics.
- Prepare for milestone governance meetings as a commercial member of the asset strategy team.
- Shape the go to market strategy for future launches. Develop and deliver the procurement and practice integration plans to allow for rapid adoption.
- Own and manage assigned budget, proactively coordinate with brand team, finance and other cross functional partners.
- Serve as a proactive contributor to AbbVie Eye Care EED&I initiatives and team culture.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required; Master's degree from an accredited institution preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of healthcare sales/marketing experience required. Inline marketing experience required. 5-7 years HCP marketing experience preferred. Buy & Bill experience preferred.
Essential Skills, Experience, and Competencies (includes Licenses, Credentials)
- Strong business acumen, forecasting, and analytics.
- Ability to translate insights into strategy and strategy into tactics.
- Marketing/brand management experience executing marketing campaigns, preferably in pharmaceutical marketing.
- Consulting experience preferred.
- Track record of commercial success with buy & bill, physician administered therapeutics, and/or procedural therapies.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Influence business leaders and effectively collaborate cross-functionally to deliver results.
- Physician/KOL relationship experience.
- Ability to work across multiple internal stakeholders to move ideas forward.
- Strong creative, critical and conceptual thinking skills.
- Storytelling and clear communication skills, both verbal/presentation and written.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to influence across diverse set of stakeholders.
- Financial/budget management experience.
- Mandatory in office minimum 3 days /week and as required Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.
- Ability to travel 50%.
