The Associate Director – R&D Quality Data Science & Insights is a pivotal leader dedicated to advancing data-driven transformation within R&D Quality Assurance. This role is accountable for architecting and delivering high-impact data and analytics strategies that unlock actionable quality insights, enable agile risk management, and drive operational excellence and innovation across research and development.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic design, development and implementation of analytic tools and data science initiatives in alignment with R&D QA strategic priorities.
- Develop and deploy advanced analytic and AI-powered solutions to enable proactive risk management and continuous improvement, utilizing analytical tools and AI methods for process optimization and innovation, and formulating strategies to enhance analytics and AI capabilities across R&D QA.
- Sponsor technical projects, providing expert guidance on analytics architecture, AI integration, and digital transformation.
- Review and approve technical documentation to ensure compliance and data integrity.
- Develop, deliver, and continuously update training programs to drive system and analytics adoption among end users and stakeholders.
- Partner with business units to drive and maximize effective use of advanced analytic systems, focusing on analytical and AI-driven enhancements.
- Lead and prioritize remediation of technical and process-related issues, leveraging analytic methodologies to identify and resolve root causes.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to optimize and integrate quality processes, including AI and data management within electronic quality management systems.
- Design and implement robust quality metrics, dashboards, and reporting tools to monitor health, performance, and compliance of data and AI-powered systems.
- Interface with senior management to recommend and advocate for analytics and AI technologies, and data-driven strategies that support RDQA and broader business objectives; lead teams specializing in analytics and AI as needed.
This role in a hybrid role with onsite day at our Lake County, IL headquarters.
Required:
- This role requires a visionary, results-oriented leader committed to shaping a next-generation quality assurance ecosystem through advanced data science and analytics.
- Demonstrated success in deploying advanced analytics, AI/ML, and data visualization with pharmaceutical or life sciences R&D.
- Expertise in data science, with proven experience transforming quality processes through technology.
- Strategic leadership and stakeholder management skills, able to deliver high-value analytical solutions in a competitive environment.
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills with a proven track record of driving measurable business impact.
- Advanced degree in Data Science or 8-10 years of experience in data science or engineering within a regulated environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of risk management principles to drive focus on impactful activities.
