Job Description

The Associate Director (AD) of Psychiatry Account Executive (PAE) Promotion reports to Head of HCP Marketing.  The AD will play a pivotal role in leading, developing, and executing first-time PAE marketing plans and initiatives to support the PAE in-field team within in-patient Health Systems. The AD will partner cross-functionally with the account executives, MABI, training, regulatory, medical, HEOR, Federal team, and Population Health to develop, analyze, refine, and deploy the PAE promotional strategy.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Lead the development and deployment of a first-time ever VRAYLAR promotional strategy within VA, Hospital, and CMHC channels.
  • Proactively support the account executive sales team through collaboration, field rides, and development of materials while ensuring successful deployment of marketing initiatives.
  • Close partnership and alignment required with Team Psych IBT to support brand priorities and launches.
  • Collaboration with internal cross-functional stakeholders and external partners to ensure integration and execution of business strategy.
  • Consistently manage multiple projects while delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Gain approval for marketing materials through internal review processes to ensure marketing activities are in compliance with medical, regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Effectively track and manage marketing budget for areas of responsibility. 
  • Maintain detailed understanding of disease and competitive marketplace
  • Develop and deliver presentations to key internal stakeholders (IBT, Neuroscience business unit, leadership team, sales teams) and external audiences
  • Bring innovative thinking and ideas to the table, challenging the status quo where appropriate to ensure brand and portfolio market leadership
  • Operate in compliance with all AbbVie internal policies (ethics, environmental health and safety, financial, human resources, and general business policies) and applicable external regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of pharmaceutical experience with strong analytical and strategic marketing skills is required
  • Previous experience in Account Executive marketing is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to make effective presentations to internal and external customers, sales teams, and senior management
  • Ability to define, track, analyze key performance measures and make data-driven decisions
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to lead, interact with focus, and drive consensus among internal and external stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds, disciplines, and departments
  • Proven project management skills, tactical development, planning, and execution, and prioritization among competing business needs
  • Is a self-starter, works well in ambiguity, and I able to quickly problem-solve and navigate a matrixed organization.
  • Is open to suggestions and experimentation for improvement, embraces ideas from others, encourages innovation but is grounded in reality
  • Demonstrated understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements and impact on development of marketing materials
  • A potential pharmaceutical leader who is Excellence Focused; Optimistic; Open and Authentic
  • Sound financial acumen with a foundational understanding of P&L drivers and previous experience with budget ownership is required
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%, attending sales meetings, field visits, conferences, market research, meetings with key stakeholders
