Reporting to the Head of Market Access Strategy and Transformation, the Market Access In Field Team (IFT) Director will take responsibility for providing clarity of Access IFT strategy to support affiliate teams, coordinating with cross functions the core deliverables to enhance our in field team support and ultimately payer engagement Abbvie’s Access in field team sees a variety of access stakeholders to communicate topics relating to our disease areas and the position / value of brands. Enhancing our IFTs has been identified by affiliates as a core strategy, and this role has been created to lead our global efforts.
This is a new role in the team and represents an opportunity for a talented individual to make a significant impact. Market access is a key strategic function in the organization. The In Field Team Director will play a fundamental role in driving organizational effectiveness, whilst contributing significantly to shaping the culture of the team. The IFT director will have close collaboration with Area and affiliates, as well as partner functions including commercial excellence, and BTS
*The preferred location is ABV1 but open to internal talent in other countries.
Key responsibilities:
Develop and execute market access In Field Team strategy ~20%
- Working with the Therapeutic Area Leaders and Market Access Directors (MADs) around the world, develop a clear Access in Field Team Strategy
- Provide positive leadership and productive influence on the focus and advancement of our access in field team plans
- Drive the implementation of in-Field team excellence to advance our payer engagement model in target markets
- Orchestrate the cross functional workstreams needed to progress our in-field team plans (e.g systems, content, training)
Establish the foundations for in field team excellence ~20%
- Identify common payer architypes to categorise into stakeholder segments.
- Align segmentation approach with countries to inform communication planning and needs.
- Partner with Commercial Excellence so that Access In Field Team strategies are part of broader company IFT Plan and incorporated into Therapy area in field team playbooks
- Identify core areas of IFT capability that
- Lead a community of MADs around the word to share experiences and best practices to advance our IFTs
Embed rigor in the use of internal IFT stakeholder platforms ~20%
- Evaluate current system (CRM) utilisation around the world
- Define needs specific to access function for system evolution and develop project plan to advance. Align with MADs on vision and commitment to system utilization.
- Partner with Business Technology to ensure a clear plan for system deployment across world.
- Launch via pilot programmers in 1-2 LBU markets
Define and develop compelling content ~20%
- Define specific Access IFT needs for content which could be developed by global, prior to affiliate localization.
- Modify VAT charters so IFT content is incorporated as a deliverable.
- Train and Coach VAT leads on Content Development requirements (audience, message, approval, system)
- Launch via pilot programmers in 1-2 LBU markets
IFT Training and Capabilities ~20%
- Partner with MAD Leads to identify critical IFT capability framework
- Identify focus areas for training / support
- Develop core IFT training module which is appropriate as global focus (e.g negotiation skills
- 8-10 Years Pharmaceutical Experience
- Market Access experience / Payer Engagement in affiliate role
- In Field Team experience as a manager / IFT member.
- Demonstrate high proficiency of the component parts of driving In Field Team excellence.
- Experience of using CRM systems (e.g Veeva)
- Excellent organizational/strong project management skills
- Must have positive attitude and build strong relationships with peers and cross functionally to enable higher performance.
- Global / Area Experience preferred but not essential
- A clear understanding of how to drive impact through a matrix and the cross functional stakeholders required to progress projects
- Influences others, including those over whom they have no direct authority.
- Acts consistently with our ethics, obligations, and the law.
