Job Description

As an Associate Director, HR Systems in AbbVie Business Technology Solutions (BTS), you’ll have opportunities to contribute to the digital transformation of a leading biopharma company, helping to create solutions that impact patients and their communities for the better.

Partnering cross-functionally across Human Resources (HR) & BTS to manage the business strategy and goals in a way that you can help deliver technology solutions that help them work towards their objectives.   Expedite, manage and coordinate a multitude of interrelated IT project activities within the constraints of human and financial resources and changing priorities to ensure the successful completion of projects. Lead team of technical experts and portfolio managers who drive HR’s agenda and own various critical incidents and problems across eco system.

In this role, you'll be responsible for:

  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
  • Initiate and Plan IT Projects: Works with Strategic Business and Executive IT management to establish project goals and business case. Helps set strategic IT direction.
  • Project Control: Assess the degree to which changes to scope, issues and risks will affect projects working with division or senior/executive management and sponsor to gain agreement for resolution. Measure performance to assure the project is progressing as compared to original plan and budget.
  • Executing and Closing Projects: Leads project managers and teams in developing and executing a program plan ensuring that authorized resources are obtained to make certain that all activities are performed. Gather lessons learned and obtain final project approval from sponsor and stakeholders.
  • Resource and Team Management: Coordinate resources to ensure program and business needs are addressed through proactive priority management with business leaders. Manages, motivates and mentor cross-functional and enterprise project teams.
  • Quality Management: Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with stakeholders like Product Owners, Affiliates, Customer Excellence, and outsourced teams to understand challenges, and opportunities, to conceive scalable and efficient processes.
  • Transform management of complex integrated platforms involving multiple technologies, stakeholders and suppliers while interfacing with key commercial HR leaders to enhance and advance global-scale applications.
  • Establish criteria for measuring the success and efficiency of eco system operations and overseeing the implementation and ongoing assessment of these metrics.
  • Provide thought leadership and contributing to the development of eco system operations strategies, roadmaps, and best practices.

Qualifications

 

Experiences that make you a strong candidate for this role: 

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 9 years’ experience; Master's Degree with 8 years’ experience; PhD with 3 years’ experience.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in a leadership role within a global HR technology product management and operations, with demonstrated success in driving the strategic development and management of multiple products, including Workday.
  • 3+ years of Workday experience.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset, capable of driving initiatives from conception to execution.

  • The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
