The AD, Digital Lab Strategy & Innovation is responsible for identifying, leading, and evolving channel innovation for AbbVie to help us better understand, reach, and engage our customers for HCP, Consumer, Patient and Enterprise. Specifically, identifying and piloting new channel capabilities, designing use cases, operating and scaling models to support an enterprise solution. This role will act as a bridge between technical experts and business units to ensure that solutions are both practical and aligned with organizational goals and connected to enterprise roadmap.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stay at the leading edge of Pharma and outside pharma industry trends (Big Tech, Financial Services, CPG/Retail, etc.) and determine appropriate areas for Consumer Innovation to improve our ability to understand, reach, engage and build relationships with our customers through personal and non-personal channels.
- Leverage a breadth of experience in customer insight, market insight, business strategy, product and service design thinking and technology into actionable strategy and execution to understand and address important business challenges that our marketing and field teams face.
- Partner closely with internal stakeholders to understand and prioritize important business challenges.
- Develop and maintain external partnerships in digital innovation and infuse learnings into the Digital Lab and brand teams. Assess, provide recommendations, and partner with internal teams to bring new ideas to life.
- Establish a rapid test-and-learn framework to uncover key learnings that will improve current and new capabilities. Lead the measurement plan for KPIs and related metrics to evaluate the performance of innovative Consumer channels. Lead cross functional stakeholders (e.g., Brand, IT, MCM) and coordinate agencies & vendors to incorporate new capabilities into marketing plans with measurable KPIs. Lead communications and training to embed new capabilities within US Commercial teams.
- Develop and maintain customer marketing maturity models and assessments which provide a pulse of progress and benchmarking across different brands. Track the utilization of digital capabilities across the enterprise by creating and maintaining a Digital Tracker and capability roadmap with input from Digital Lab Leads, Brand Marketing, IT, and external partners.
- Build business cases, gain alignment from cross-functional leadership (Marketing, Media, Analytics, IT, Sales Operations), and identify vendor partners to pilot innovation.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing with 10+ years of experience of Digital Marketing/Innovation including operations and process development.
- MBA or equivalent education and/or experience in Marketing, Business, or related field.
- Digital marketing or interactive agency experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated end-to-end Digital Innovation experience from defining the customer/human problem, generating strong customer insights, ideation & the development of pilots, digital experimentation using an agile test-and-learn approach, and implementing across different channels.
- Experience in identifying the business need and developing a launch plan for new capabilities within an organization.
- Extensive project management skills and strong follow-through demonstrated across the project lifecycle.
- Proven track record of ability to influence and communicate clearly to stakeholders across all levels and various functions within an organization.
- Must have experience with Digital 1:1/CRM vehicles (email, addressable media, dynamic web), data capture techniques, application of legal/privacy terms & conditions.
- Strong track record of success in managing multiple, complex project needs and collaborating across internal and external stakeholders.
