Job Description

The primary objective of this position is to provide financial leadership and business support for the Imbruvica brand. Specifically, this position is responsible for OUS actuals, SG&A & Alliance financial planning, reporting, controlling, and forecasting. In addition, this position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the financial statements and staff development as required.

The AD interacts with all levels of Finance to consolidate IMBRUVICA financials, OUS, SG&A and Alliance actuals; with the Imbruvica Business partners, Director of Oncology Finance and Oncology Controller in terms of supporting business analytics, decision making support, publishing monthly reporting, and leading responses for questions.

Financial Reporting and Internal Control

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close / reporting processes for SG&A and OUS revenue ensuring accurate and timely reporting of results in accordance with GAAP and reporting requirements from DHQ.
  • Develop effective SG&A and OUS reporting, monitor performance, and support development of contingency plans as necessary to deliver results with clear and concise commentary.
  • Oversee the preparation of all monthly collaboration transaction calculations, as part of the profit and cost sharing process.
  • Quarterly, prepare and route for approval invoice payment to JBI as well as royalty payments based on worldwide Imbruvica sales.
  • Lead the FWG for the JBI collaboration, ensuring appropriate collaboration-required reporting is completed.
  • Prepare the IR/Quarterly JBI-ABBVIE report reconciliation.

 

Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Proactively lead the brand planning processes for SG&A and Alliance [Plan, LBE and LRP] ensuring accurate and timely integration of investment resourcing in the overall brand approach and ensuring senior management input to meet deadlines and deliverables.
  • Accountable for generating, presenting, and maintaining Imbruvica SG&A and Alliance sales forecasts and OUS actuals with a high degree of precision and insight.
  • Ensure financial planning deliverables are accurate, clear, and concise for Executive level review and approval.
  • Coordinate with JBI’s finance team to gain clear understanding of their OUS Revenue actuals and shared SG&A spending to ensure appropriate inclusion in the AbbVie planning cycles.
  • Ad-hoc analysis as required.

Strategic Business Partnership:

  • Business partner with all relevant Imbruvica business functions to develop and build strong relationships, ensuring full involvement in their financials to drive growth and profitability.

People Leadership and Development:

  • Effectively lead and develop team of 3 professionals and 1 FDP.
  • Drive a positive, productive, and inclusive culture.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 8-10 years progressive accounting or finance experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • This position requires an individual with the ability and desire to proactively search out and evaluate business problems and opportunities.
  • Experience in leading and motivating a team in a dynamic business environment to successfully achieve results / deliverables.  
  • Experience supporting senior operating management.

Preferred:

  • MBA in Accounting or Finance and/or CPA
  • Multi-division experience and knowledge of the financial planning process
  • Solid understanding of automated accounting/finance systems such as SAP, and BPC
