Job Description

The Associate Director, Business HR (BHR) is a trusted partner to the organization, helping to shape our culture, support our business strategies and finding and developing the talent necessary to make a remarkable impact on AbbVie and patients around the world. You will leverage best-in-class HR practices to continually construct, deliver and support programs that establish AbbVie as an employer of choice while empowering all employees at all levels of the organization.

 

This role is a unique combination of BHR partnership and Project Management. The Associate Director, BHR will serve as a strategic partner for two functions within the Commercial US Immunology organization including the Immunology Account Executives (IAE) and Pipeline Commercialization Strategy (PCS), as well as leading critical projects across the Commercial HR organization.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary strategic to the business leaders, developing HR strategies, needs assessment and executing on priorities. Establish, build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the Vice President, PCS and General Manager, Immunology Account Executives. Responsible for HR results in the business, including HR effectiveness and performance.
  • Responsible for overseeing and leading HR projects and/or initiatives including the Commercial Crisis Action Team (CAT) lead, Engagement Survey, centralized Commercial support, Data Analysis and cross BU initiatives.
  • Attract and retain talent, ensure diversity and development (e.g., leadership pipelines, cross-functional talent moves, and sales pipeline)
  • Responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of all HR programs and processes. Responsible for HR results in the business, including client satisfaction, HR effectiveness and associated financial results.
  • Maintain strong partnership with key HR partners from all practice areas (Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, EEDI, Talent Management) to ensure elements of HR are successfully coordinated to meet business needs, including relationship management, leadership, HR roles/responsibilities, and service delivery commitments.
  • Manage delivery of HR priorities, develop proposals and recommendations to resolve strategically important issues affecting the Commercial/Immunology organization.
  • Assist in the diagnosis, development and delivery of HR strategies, programs and services that influence and drive the needs of the respective business. Utilize skills in data analysis and survey results analysis to help generate insights and recommendations around talent, culture and engagement.
  • Serves as a trusted advisor to people leaders as well as employees to support leadership development, business decision-making, HR management, problem solving, and performance management.
  • Identification of trends and new approaches to business processes should be both incremental as well as “ahead of the curve.”

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or in a highly related field of study required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Eight+ (8+) years of related experience. Experience supporting a global business and partnering with US/ International based business leaders and HR colleagues.
  • Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting the business.
  • Strong Project and Stakeholder Management experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of organizational development activity preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills at all levels, including senior leadership.
  • Ability to influence and challenge the status quo.
  • Demonstrate strong collaboration skills to successfully work cross functionally.

  • The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.​
