Job Description

As an Associate Business Systems Consultant in AbbVie Business Technology Solutions (BTS), you will be responsible for evaluating and optimizing business processes and systems to improve efficiency and productivity.

This position can be based virtually anywhere in the U.S.

In this role you’ll be responsible for:

  • Systems Analysis and Evaluation: Conduct detailed analyses of existing business systems to identify inefficiencies, redundancies, and areas for improvement. This includes understanding user needs, system functionalities, and organizational workflows.
  • Requirement Gathering: Collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather business requirements and ensure that all aspects of a project align with the project’s goals and objectives. This often involves conducting interviews and workshops with key personnel. Assisting in translating business requirements into functional requirements; performing data and process modeling; managing change, coordinating & performing testing, verification, and validation of requirements.
  • Process Optimization: Aiding the team in identifying opportunities to streamline and improve business processes, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
  • Testing and Implementation: Oversee the testing of new systems or modifications to ensure they meet business requirements and function as intended. This includes working on user acceptance testing (UAT) and addressing any issues that arise.
  • Training and Support: Once systems are implemented, provide training to end-users, and offer ongoing support to ensure smooth adoption and effective use of technologies.
  • Documentation: Maintaining comprehensive documentation of systems, processes, project plans, and changes is crucial. This helps in future maintenance and refinement efforts.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Regular communication with team members and stakeholders is essential to keep them informed about project progress, challenges, and outcomes.
  • Vendor Management: Support relationships with external vendors and provide oversight of scheduled deliveries. This may involve applying third-party solutions and ensuring vendor compliance with all Abbvie standards and requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor and optimize documentation, processes, and systems to enhance efficiency, reliability, and scalability over time. This involves staying informed about emerging technologies and best practices in application management and driving initiatives for process improvement and innovation.

Tools and skills you will use, and learn to use, in this role:

  • Project Management Software: Tools like Microsoft Project, JIRA and Smartsheet to help manage project timelines, tasks, and resources.
  • CRM Software: Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Salesforce is important for understanding customer operations processes and integrations with other IT systems.
  • Data Analysis Tools: Tools like Excel, and Power BI used for data analysis, reporting, and visualization.
  • Business Process Modeling Tools: Software such as Miro or equivalent to help create process maps and workflow diagrams.
  • Collaboration Platforms: Tools like Microsoft Teams and Confluence to enable effective communication and collaboration among team members.
  • Documentation Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, ServiceNow, Kneat and documentation platforms like Confluence is essential for maintaining comprehensive records.
  • Testing Tools: Familiarity with testing tools like Qtest and Tosca and helps manage and execute system testing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years’ experience; Master’s degree with 5 years’ experience, PhD with no experience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication and strong analytical skills. Proven ability to build trust, listen and ask effective questions.
  • Proven track record of effective project leadership and positive results. Ability to self-manage time and priorities.

Beneficial:

  • Work experience in the pharmaceutical and healthcare or similar industry.
  • Experience working with cross functional business teams in a large organization is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud and SaaS technologies such as Microsoft Azure, Salesforce, Snowflake, SAP and PowerBI.

  • The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.   • This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs. ​
