As an Associate Business Systems Consultant in BTS Information Research (IR), you will play a critical role in supporting specifically the global Development Biological Sciences (DBS) organization and the Biotherapeutics & Genetic Medicine (BGM). You will serve as a key liaison within a global team, bridging business stakeholders and IT to ensure accurate capture and translation of business requirements into effective technological solutions. Your key responsibilities will include understanding and documenting business process flows, gathering business requirements, identifying improvement opportunities, and leading system implementation and support efforts. Additionally, you will be the designated IT System Owner for multiple systems used within both BGM and DBS Organization, demonstrating leadership in guiding teams and overseeing system management to meet organizational objectives.
Responsibilities:
Business Relationship Management: Continue to build on and maintain strong relationships with business leaders and stakeholders to ensure their needs are met and drive strategic initiatives.
System Ownership, Accountability, and Vendor Engagement: Take ownership of systems within the DBS organization, ensuring they are well-maintained, optimized, and compliant. Engage with vendors to facilitate system enhancements and troubleshoot issues, ensuring that external partnerships align with business needs and objectives.
Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce redundancies within DBS operations & applications.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster strong collaboration with our global DBS team, other IR teams and business areas to ensure alignment and support for strategic objectives across the organization.
Project Management: Delivers valuable support to diverse areas across DBS and BTS IR, ensuring smooth operations and progress. Utilizes relevant principles to enhance projects and ongoing activities. Completes tasks that drive the success of projects and empower functional teams.
Self-Reliant Team Player: Works effectively with team/group as well as independently to accomplish organizational goals. Actively participates in business or team meetings by offering suggestions. Regular assignments are completed with minimal supervision.
Problem Solving: Utilizes analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to diagnose issues, develop solutions, and make informed recommendations by evaluating business and technology needs. Approaches challenges with sound judgment and flexibility, ensuring decisions align with project objectives, business needs and contribute to successful outcomes.
Change Management: Lead and support change management efforts to facilitate the smooth transition and implementation of new systems and processes. Develop strategies to manage resistance, engage stakeholders, and ensure user adoption for successful integration with existing operation.
Guidance and Mentorship: Inspires team members through guidance and support, encouraging professional development and fostering a collaborative environment that drives the team to achieve strategic goals.
Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
- Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years’ experience; Master’s Degree with 5 years’ experience; PhD with 0 years’ experience.
- Experience in a Business System Analyst role (requirements gathering, drafting URS/FRS documents etc.)
- Systems Testing and IT Implementation experience
- Project Management experience (DevOps vs waterfall vs agile)
- Basic knowledge of the IT System Life Cycle (SLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Basic knowledge of regulated systems and GxP
- Must be able to effectively lead and facilitate meetings with vendors, business, and technical team members.
- Science background preferred

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.

Where We Work
Role is primarily site- or office-based but can occasionally be performed remotely. Employees who are site/office-based and can occasionally perform their role virtually work both in the office and remotely*, following the policies and regulations in place at their location. US Employees must be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Three days in the office is the minimum; some individuals or teams may require more in-office days due to meetings, business/project needs or their role.
