Job Description

Allergan Aesthetics, an AbbVie Company, is recruiting an Allergan Aesthetics Associate Medical Director reporting to the Medical Director Western Europe & Canada for our Aesthetics division in France. 

By joining our company, you will have a strategic in-affiliate leadership role, with principal responsibility for leading and building the medical organisation and developing the scientific and medical strategy that support the continuing success of Allergan Aesthetics in the affiliate(s). As a member of the affiliate leadership team(s), the AAMD is the direct link between the aesthetics R&D organisation and the local affiliate aesthetics team. Additionally, the AAMD will work closely with the Affiliate Medical Director(s) to ensure we operate efficiently as one AbbVie organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Development and execution of affiliate level Medical plans to contribute valuable strategic input to both Global Medical plans and to affiliate commercial plans, ensuring that the Affiliate Medical plan is aligned with Global Medical and affiliate commercial plans for aesthetics.
  • Strong connection with local Opinion Leaders and External Organisations: maintain professional and credible relationships with top tier affiliate opinion leaders, academic centers and external organisations e.g. governmental organisations, professional societies, etc. to ensure access to current medical and scientific information on the products and areas of therapeutic interest of Allergan Aesthetics.
  • Lead within affiliate Leadership Team: collaborate with other leaders within affiliate to operate a successful organisation
  • Build and maintain a strong local Medical team: recruit, retain and mentor high potential employees in the medical affairs team, ensuring that a talent pool exists for a dynamic and changing organisation. 

Qualifications

You have either a Doctor of Medicine degree, PhD, PharmD with:

  • a minimum of 2 years medical research and clinical work experience or practice. 
  • a minimum of 5 years broad pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry experience
  • Team management experience, preferably of medical affairs teams
  • Relevant aesthetics therapeutic area knowledge experience desirable

From a practical point of view and daily work life: we are currently located in Rungis; however, AbbVie France will be relocating to 5/13 Bd de la République, 92100 Boulogne-Billancourt by the end of 2025. The new premises along the Seine will host the France and Europe teams, both therapeutic and aesthetics, in two newly renovated seven-story buildings within a campus of four buildings. 

Each floor will be equipped with meeting rooms and relaxation areas to promote collaboration and informal exchanges. The premises will also have outdoor spaces, including a green inner courtyard and a private rooftop with a view of the Seine, exclusively for AbbVie employees.
