As a Generative AI Acceleration Center Lead, you will be a strategic technology lead, responsible for driving a Generative AI center of excellence for the global Commercial and Allergan Aesthetics teams. Our collective goal is to accelerate our team’s time-to-market and reduce risk for Gen Al initiatives across our organization.
In this role you will be responsible for helping us achieve sustainable AI success in our organization through the mobilization, facilitation, and maintenance of the Generative AI Acceleration Center. This includes:
Shared Repositories and Accelerators
- Setup git-hub repository of reusable GenAI capabilities which can be leveraged as accelerators for others
- Manage a global repository of GenAI use cases across all teams
- Documentation of GenAI best practices & learnings from practitioners
Stakeholder Collaboration and Innovation Forums
- Enable communication with knowledge exchange through Newsletters
- Facilitate conversations where leadership can jointly shape GenAI vision & strategy, make strategic decisions, share use case and GAC progress
- Prepare and lead monthly content for committee and practitioner meetings
Architecture & Roadmap
- Help establish & socialize GenAI reference architecture frameworks, including architecture Reviews for use cases moving from development to production
- Influence enterprise team’s roadmap to deliver on GenAI infrastructure & platform priorities required in the Commercial and AA BTS areas
- Drive market scanning best practices to continuously evaluate build v/s buy decisions
Talent Development & Trainings
- Collaborate on curating a GenAI curriculum that encompasses everything from basic prompt engineering for non-technical employees to technical disciplines like vector database, model testing, accuracy validation and other relevant topics
- Partner with enterprise learning organizations to understand broader AI strategy including available training licenses and courses
- Works with business unit clients to understand specific business processes and business drivers and business strategy across multiple business units; identifies and communicates resulting needs and opportunities for business process improvement that can be enabled via technology; investigates and understands capabilities of existing systems and technologies already in use across the business area and similar and interconnected business areas in AbbVie and investigates available technologies.
- Identifies information required to support the business strategy and leads the development of appropriate information management strategies, developing them as an integrated part of the business strategy. Identifies, proposes, initiates and leads significant improvement programs across multiple business areas establishing requirements for the implementation of significant changes in business functions and processes, organizational roles and responsibilities and scope or nature of technology.
- Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
Identifies current and emerging business needs and evaluates alternative technology solutions using standard information systems methodologies and best practices. - Proactively seeks out strategic business opportunities for the application of new or existing technology capabilities (across multiple business areas) with high-level business unit executives providing key opinion-leading clients with comprehensive strategic analyses and insights to help them discover strategic uses of technology products and services.
- Develops, leads, or reviews the creation of information systems strategy to support the strategic requirements of multiple business areas. Identifies the business benefits of alternative strategies. Ensures compliance between business strategies and technology directions. May prepare testing plans to confirm that requirements and system design are accurate and complete.
- Conducts training. Makes recommendations to process stakeholders regarding the correct approach to achieve process improvement objectives. These may include business process outsourcing, application development or adopting business process management (BPM) practices.
- Develops business relationships and integrates activities with other BTOs to ensure successful implementation and support of project efforts. Manages relationships between clients involved and BTOs to assure effective communication between the groups is occurring.
- Brokers services within BTS on behalf of customers; coordinates portfolio of solutions, and identifies interdependencies. Allies with other BTOs to remain current on project status, and inform customer management of progress; conversely, keeps BTS managers aware of user issues and resolves conflicts. Identifies the impact of any relevant statutory, internal or external regulations on the organization's use of information.
- Establishes and maintains productive relationships with all levels in BTS and with external partners. Acts as a liaison and business process expert to BTOs to assure successful implementation. Serves as a source of information to the service organizations on the business drivers, processes and organization structure and dynamics of multiple business areas.
Has defined authority and responsibility for a significant area of work, including technical, financial and quality aspects. Establishes organizational objectives and delegates assignments. Accountable for actions and decisions taken by self and subordinates. Accountable for the accuracy of the fit of the proposed business process improvements and the technical solution to the business needs and the information upon which the business justification and prioritization

- Bachelor's Degree with 8 years experience; Master's Degree with 7 years experience; PhD with 3 years experience.
- Demonstrated experience in creating and executing data transformation strategies
- Demonstrated excellent analytic, judgment and consultative capabilities
- Experience working in a complex, cross functional teams
- Experience working with generative AI implementation, including Large Language Models, Vector Databases, advanced analytics tools (such as R and Python)
- Exposure to gen AI reference architecture frameworks
- Strong written, visual, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work with both IT staff and business
- Ability to set an example for participation, be able to motivate others and create an environment for the Acceleration Center to thrive
- AbbVie and/or Commercial domain knowledge is a plus
