Purpose
Describe the primary goals, objectives or functions or outputs of this position.
As an AbbVie Intern, the student participates in a paid program that is focused on providing students with robust projects and with the opportunity to work with energetic colleagues and inspirational leaders, all while gaining world-class experience in one of the most dynamic organizations in the pharmaceutical industry. As an Intern, the student will be located at one of our Operations sites at Barceloneta or at our Commercial Affiliate at San Juan, Puerto Rico. AbbVie’s worldwide business offers an opportunity for a variety of potential work experiences that are aligned to a variety of functional areas, including (but not limited to):
- Commercial Affiliate: Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Communications, Finance, Ethics and Compliance, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Perform various projects as assigned.
- Participate in social/networking and learning & development activities.
- Willingness to do meaningful work that has a real impact on our business and patients worldwide.
- Present to the staff leaders, managers, and mentors the achievements of the assigned projects as well as the main learnings gained during the program.
- Provide assistance to operations in accordance with environmental management, occupational health and safety (EH&S) systems and promote continuous improvement. Comply with all EHS procedures and policies including incident reporting, use of PPE, waste management and disposal, and any other program applicable according to the position duties.
Significant Work Activities:
- Frequent to continuous computer usage (greater or equal to 50% of the workday) is required
Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled in an undergraduate level program (Bachelor's Degree) at an accredited university, in any of the following fields: Business Administration (Marketing), Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial), Sciences (Chemistry, Microbiology).
- Master's Degree or PhD candidates will also be evaluated.
- Strong academic performance. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (4.0 Scale) and extra-curricular achievements.
- Excellent problem-solving, written, and verbal skills (English and Spanish).
- Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Proven track record of teamwork, adaptability, innovation, creativity, initiative and integrity.
- Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship.
- For Student COOP:
- Must be completing the last year of undergraduate students
- Must be enrolled in a COOP course for the semester.
- Previous COOP or Internship experience is preferred. - Knowledge/ experience in Project Management is highly desired.
Time of the COOP: August 2026 to December 2026.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time ofthis posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location,and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.

Where We Work
Role is primarily site- or office-based but can occasionally be performed remotely. Employees who are site/office-based and can occasionally perform their role virtually work both in the office and remotely*, following the policies and regulations in place at their location. US Employees must be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Three days in the office is the minimum; some individuals or teams may require more in-office days due to meetings, business/project needs or their role.
