2025 Commercial Leader Program Overview
Our Commercial Leader Program (CLP) provides a dynamic experience to develop high-potential MBA talent for future U.S. Commercial and general management positions at AbbVie. By rotating through a variety of commercial roles across AbbVie, CLP addresses the business needs of today while helping to grow experienced, well-rounded management talent for tomorrow. Over the four years and three rotations, you may work in rotations in the following fields:
- Brand Marketing
- Field Sales
- Market Access
Locations
A majority of our Commercial Leader Program opportunities are based at our headquarters in north suburban Chicago, Lake County, IL. However, some participants can be placed in the following office locations for up to two (2) rotations. At least one (1) rotation must be based in Lake County, Illinois for all program participants. There is additional geographic flexibility available for the Sales rotation in key market areas within the U.S. Please share your location preferences with your recruiter.

Minimum Qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited MBA program completing your second year, preferably with an emphasis on marketing, healthcare consulting or general management
- Must be enrolled in university the semester following your internship and graduate with an MBA degree between December 2024 – June 2025.
- At least 3 years of prior work experience required
- Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license (for Sales rotation)
- An essential requirement of your Sales rotation is to meet health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain entry into facilities and organizations that are in your assigned territory
Preferred Qualifications
- Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher preferred
- Demonstrated leadership potential
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Understanding of healthcare/biotechnology industry is a plus
- Domestic geographic mobility

- The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
- We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off (vacation, holidays, sick), medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
- This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.
