Biologics Analytical R&D Internship Overview

The Biologics Analytical R&D Intern will perform experimental studies to support projects and initiatives in the Biologics Analytical R&D line, as directed by the supervisor.   Studies may involve manufacture of liquid and freeze-dried formulations and their analysis using an array of analytical tools and methods, including chromatography, calorimetry, and spectroscopy.   The intern will document the results and data analysis as appropriate.  

Key responsibilities include:

• Manufacture study materials, prepare solutions on wt% basis, perform filtration, fill vials, and perform freeze-drying.
• Conduct analytical and physico-chemical testing, e.g., by HPLC, DSC, and UV-vis spectroscopy.
• Perform data analysis, e.g., on chemical kinetics.

Minimum Qualifications  

• Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a   Master’s degree or PhD  in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemical/Chemical Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, or other related field.
• Must be enrolled in university for at least one semester following the internship.
• Experience in performing experiments in chemical or biophysical laboratories.

Preferred Qualifications  

• Expected graduation date between December 2024 – July 2025.
• Strong experimental skills in analytical chemistry.
• Experience in data analysis as related to physical organic chemistry and chemical kinetics.
