Moving mountains together – as Senior Scientist Bench I – Analytical development of Cell & Gene Therapy products (all genders) (full-time, permanent)
For the AIMS (Analytical Innovation & Mass Spectrometry) Team in the Biologics Analytical R&D Department at AbbVie’s Ludwigshafen site in Germany, we are seeking an enthusiastic scientist to conduct hands-on analytical development of ATMP (advanced therapeutic medicinal products (e.g. rAAV, LNPs) methods. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced scientist with a strong background in analytical development and deeper understanding of protein and viral capsid characterization.
Responsibilities
- Analysis and characterization of genetic medicine vectors (e.g. AAVs, LNPs)
- Hands-on development and optimization of analytical methods
- Maintenance of the relevant instrumentation
- Reporting and presenting of results in local and global meetings
- You hold a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and typically, 10 years of experience, Master’s Degree or equivalent education and typically 8 years of experience, PhD and no (some) experience necessary in chemistry, (structural) biology or related field
- You have extensive knowledge in the characterization of protein complexes/viral vectors
- Experience in the field of vector characterization (e.g. AAV, LNP, Lentivirus) is a plus
- During your scientific career you have built strong expertise and hands-on experience in the characterization of large protein complexes
- You like to drive scientific initiatives as well as to shape the analytical strategy in the CGT landscape
- You have expertise in the field of biophysical characterization
- As a highly motivated, self-driven and results-oriented person with excellent communication and presentation skills you are driven by innovative ways of thinking to improve processes, methods, systems, products or services.
- You are well known to be an excellent team player with the ability to build strong networks with peers who has a strong desire for the application of new techniques and innovative solutions.
- As a global acting company we presume excellent communication skills, including written and oral English and basic knowledge of German.
