The Associate Director, Copay COE is the single accountable BTS partner for US Commercial Copay COE business, a senior technology executive who sits at the intersection of Copay COE strategy and technology enablement, ensuring BTS Copay investments align with Copay COE priorities and deliver impact to patient access and commercial growth.
Serving as the trusted advisor to Directors across the Copay COE, MAPS APEX, and in some cases BESD, and IRA organizations, this role will oversee the strategic technology transformation of U.S. copay COE’s technology ecosystem to address emerging initiatives.
This role will matrix with leaders across Market Access, Patient Services, Finance & BU BTS and enterprise teams to establish a vision and roadmap for Copay COE technology, while balancing unique needs of each BU and function, with a focus on enabling data driven decision making and integrated cross functional insights. In addition, the role will also be responsible for design, development and deployment of data and analytics solutions for Copay COE and MAPS APEX.
The role will be accountable for the Copay COE BTS investment portfolio end-to-end: from strategic prioritization and business case development through delivery oversight and ROI validation, coordinating execution across BTS BU leads, shared services platforms and data teams’ enterprise wide.
As a strategic anchor for the Copay COE, this leader understands complex external environments & healthcare policies to support data & technology evaluation for emerging US commercial priorities.
Responsibilities:
Develop, execute and manage IT projects within the defined scope. Expedite, manage and coordinated a multitude of interrelated IT project activities within the constraints of human and financial resources and changing priorities to ensure the successful completion of projects. Manage Project Managers.
Initiate and Plan IT Projects: Works with Copay COE and BTS Leadership teams to establish project goals and business case. Helps set strategic IT direction.
Project Control: Assess the degree to which changes to scope, issues and risks will affect projects working with division or senior/executive management and sponsor to gain agreement for resolution. Measure performance to assure the project is progressing as compared to original plan and budget.
Executing and Closing Projects: Leads project managers and teams in developing and executing a program plan ensuring that authorized resources are obtained to make certain that all activities are performed. People leader managing a team of analysts and their projects and growth in the organization.
Project Communication: Communicate project progress by producing project reports to provide timely and accurate project status and decision support information to Project Team, Division, Cross Division and Executive management. Makes recommendations based on current project status to resolve issues.
Resource and Team Management: Coordinate resources to ensure program and business needs are addressed through proactive priority management with business leaders. Manages, motivates and mentor cross-functional and enterprise project teams.
Business-BTS Strategic Alignment: Act as the primary BTS point of contact for Copay COE, Patient Services, MAPS APEX leaders, and building trusted, advisory-level relationships.
Strategic Copay COE Support: Own and drive the Copay COE roadmap to enable integrated data and analytics strategy & key emerging initiatives to address Accumulator, Maximizers, AFM, and patient abandonment risks. Develop comprehensive knowledge management for all patient access & affordability solutions and oversight of copay program operations across external vendor partners.
Portfolio Demand Management & Prioritization: Oversee the intake and prioritization of all incoming technology requests for Copay COE applying a structured, value-based prioritization framework that balances urgency, strategic impact, resource capacity, and enterprise standards.
BTS Budget Orchestration: Manage the Copay COE BTS investment, owning budget planning, allocation, and governance to ensure funds are deployed against the highest-impact technology priorities, with clear financial visibility & accountability to BTS leadership.
Solution Design & Feasibility Partnership: Partner with BU BTS architecture and shared services teams to evaluate solution options for Copay COE business needs, contributing strategic business context to feasibility assessments, trade-off evaluations, decisions to ensure solutions are pragmatic, scalable, and commercially grounded.
Consulting Partnership: Actively engages strategic consulting partners to architect and deliver unique, innovative business capabilities, channeling external expertise and bold thinking to address critical business priorities.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science or related discipline with 9 years’ experience; Master's Degree with 8 years’ experience; PhD with 4 years’ experience.
- 9+ years experience in project management, business systems analysis, software development or deployment, with a minimum of 9 years managing projects, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- 4+ years in the pharmaceutical industry with expertise in patient support programs, market access, finance, sales, marketing, or related commercial function in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
- Strong analytical skills and experience working with SQL, PowerBI, Cloud technologies and project management tools such as JIRA, waterfall methodologies and SLC processes
- Candidates should have working knowledge of the compliance and regulatory environment for manufacturers in the pharmaceutical space.
- Experience managing onshore, offshore and nearshore contract resources, including contract negotiation in multi-vendor engagement.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking, leadership and ability to influence executive stakeholders.
- Self-starter who is comfortable leading with ambiguity, capable of initiating and driving multiple projects in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment with minimal oversight.

Where We Work
Role is exclusively performed at a site or office and onsite presence is required. Employees who are site/office-based and can occasionally perform their role virtually work both in the office and remotely*, following the policies and regulations in place at their location. US Employees must be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Three days in the office is the minimum; some individuals or teams may require more in-office days due to meetings, business/project needs or their role.
