National Business Manager, Patient Outreach

The National Business Manager (NBM) is responsible for ensuring that the Immunology, Specialty and Oncology Ambassadors have the appropriate resources and support required to deliver on both patient and franchise expectations.  The NBM will be a primary in-house contact for collaboration of program updates with cross functional teams (Training, Marketing, Field Operations, AAS &MABI) and is responsible for building and maintaining these relationships.  The NBM will seek to identify opportunities across Nurse Ambassador programs and will participate in the development of strategies, tactics and resources required to optimize the value for patients.  The NBM reports to the Director of Patient Outreach and will work cross-functionally with Immunology and Specialty/Oncology National Directors. In addition, this position acts as a liaison to support Patient Outreach initiatives in other divisional franchises and across global brand teams.


  • Develop and implement a robust plan to facilitate clear communication within the Nurse Ambassador organization.  Responsible for content oversight and distribution of key program updates, meeting agendas, notes and next steps including web-based portal communications.
  • Ensure coordination with all cross-franchise partners that creates seamless training and execution of new resources, reporting tools or process changes.  Collaborate with the training department to coordinate execution of product and systems training.  Clarify and integrate marketing strategies to be customized to reflect the patient insights associated with each disease state. 
  • Serve as the liaison within Patient Engagement for patient highlight communications throughout Patient Services and the broader organization.
  • Identify opportunities, create and implement strategies and leverage all necessary reporting tools and patient resources to enhance Patient experiences and Ambassador effectiveness.
  • Coordinate all aspects of business meetings distinct to the Nurse Ambassador organization, including site selection, contracting, logistics, and agendas.  Responsible for coordination of National Patient Services Meetings, to include collaboration on agenda, logistical set up, compliance, reporting, special events planning, and training.
  • Collaborate with the National Managers and Director of Patient Outreach to develop KPIs, ensure reporting systems are in place and provide monthly performance updates to the Directors
  • Lead the process to conduct a skills assessment for Ambassador Leaders, identify professional development needs and develop an annual training plan to advance the performance of the District Managers and Regional Directors
  • This position is also responsible for developing and executing a feedback mechanism from internal team members to assess the value of the program as perceived by the patients, gain insights on process improvements and coordinate with cross functional teams to implement program enhancements. 
  • Enhance Nurse Ambassador culture through initiatives designed to make this the very best place to work.  Communicating patient-focused program changes consistently to teams and finding ways to recognize important program events such as National Nurse Ambassador Day, National Nurses Week, program enrollment milestones, etc.
  • Provide Patient Engagement franchise leadership with updates on policy developments and likely impact on patients and service delivery.  


The role location is flexible however weekly travel to ABBV1 is a job expectation.
