Sales Training Manager

Identify, develop, review and conduct training programs for sales force to enhance Allergan TWHK employees’ capability and competency. 


The facilitation of sales training program including selling skills, coaching skills, key account management etc in the classroom, online training as well as on the job training in the field to coach the field force including the Sales Manager. This will form a significant part of this role, as will development and facilitation of sales training workshops at national conferences and sales team meetings. Thus, this role will include regular field trips to enhance sales skills, accelerate learning transfer, and to identify individual training needs of the field force in TWHK.

Training Resource Management

  1. Developing and maintaining training material / training library and leveraging on initiatives and resources developed by International Training Team such as online training material, sales skills training modules, product training modules, soft skills training modules and IS training modules

  2. Recording training attendance, reviewing and recording results of training program evaluations and reporting regularly on training activities and needs developments

  3. Monitoring training expenditure on an on-going basis and to be within budget and with the necessary approvals

  4. Planning, developing and delivering the selling skill training, territory development plan/management, key account management for all field force and coaching skill/leadership training for sales managers.

  5. Providing regular field training support to the Sales Managers to accelerate learning transfer, enhance field force sales skills, and to identify individual and team base training needs

  6. Proactively developing advanced training programs and workshops for employees on the unique needs of the business in collaboration with the Management team and external vendors where appropriate

  7. Develop and ensure coaching forms completed by SM during Joint calls are tracked, filed and follow-up



2.  Therapeutic Knowledge Assessment

  1. Regularly developing, delivering and tracking therapeutic area and product knowledge in collaboration with the Sales Managers and Product Managers to ensure maintenance of high knowledge levels for all sales employees

  2. Developing and tracking knowledge and skills transfer and evaluation processes for sales teams in partnership with the Management team to ensure that each sales employee meets the standards required in respect of therapeutic knowledge and technical skills


3.  Internal Communication

  1. Initiate and implement corporate events to support cascading company strategies, such as kick off meeting, cycle meeting, annual event.

  2. Coordinate and support country initiatives in areas such as employee engagement.




The requirements described in this section are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

Education and Experience

  • Successful completion of relevant tertiary studies, preferably in Science or Business

  • Demonstrated understanding of the Healthcare Industry in TWHK

  • Previous experience developing and delivering training to sales teams

  • Sales experience in Hospitals and Clinics is desirable

  • Excellent group presentation skills; confidence presenting to both large and small groups

  • Demonstrated ability/experience in coaching and developing knowledge in others

  • Superior questioning and listening skills for accurate program brief taking

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop rapport quickly

  • Ability to interact with senior leaders in organization

  • Professional written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work under pressure within strict deadlines

  • Demonstrable computer literacy with Intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and digital platforms

      **PR experience is a plus
