Commercial BTS Data & Analytics Specialist

Main Goal

  • Support commercial and HQ departments in enabling reporting capabilities, through system design and implementation projects, and supporting activities in the area of data analytics and data management.

Core job Responsibilities

  • Prepare business process design documents and functional specifications for WRICEFs (workflow, reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms).
  • Support the Commercial BTS Manager in managing BTS initiatives.
  • Interact with the Area and Global CoE to align local initiatives to corporate strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable AbbVie policies and procedures (Global/Area/Affiliate)
  • Communicate project progress by producing project reports to provide timely and accurate project status and decision support information to Brand Teams as required.
  • Manage project progress through clear decision-making with and on behalf of the Business Owner. Makes recommendations based on current project status to resolve issues
  • Support his manager in escalation for any issues within or between the Centres of Excellence and local affiliate
  • Experience in analysis, requirements gathering, design, coordination, customization, testing, and support of use case and dashboard development.
  • Performing root cause analysis of dashboard issues.
  • Develop evolutionary/maintenance, performance, capacity, quality and availability dashboards.
  • Assist in defining technical requirements and developing technology solutions.
  • Effective content and source code management, troubleshooting and debugging.
  • Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with the local business and global team members.
  • Ensure the training program and management of change once the technological solutions have been delivered

  • Builds relationships. Initiates and cultivates open, honest relationships with colleagues, contractors, and vendors, developing an understanding of others’ needs, promoting common goals, and following through on commitments
  • Very good document writing skills (e.g. functional specifications)
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Data Visualization solutions (e.g. Qlik, Power BI).
  • Advanced knowledge of at least one of the main programming languages for the implementation of analytics solutions (e.g. Python, Julia, Scala or R).
  • Deep understanding of analysis techniques, design, and modeling of relational databases and SQL language.
  • knowledge of key Big Data technologies (e.g. PySpark, PySparkSQL, Pandas, Vaex, Dask).
  • Ability to analyze, design, develop and maintain Business Intelligence systems - preferably on "Palantir".
  • Development and maintenance of scalable data pipelines, to support continuing increases in data volume and complexity.
  • at least 2 years of experience in Enterprise Information Management projects (metadata management, data model, data lineage, ETL/ELT or data architecture).
  • experience with RDBMS (e.g.: Oracle, Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server).
  • Designing data integrations and data quality frameworks.
  • Designing and evaluating open source and vendor tools for data cataloguing, lineage, and quality.
  • Participating in ensuring compliance and governance during data use.
  • Defining and managing SLAs for AMS processes.
  • DevOps/DataOps experience.


Knowledge & Experience :

  • A Master's degree (or Bachelor's degree) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other deemed relevant, or equivalent technical experience plus demonstrated competence, with a desired 5+ years of significant IT Consultancy or IT Professional experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language.
