Country Manager, SEE - Allergan Aesthetics

This position has strategic responsibilities covering financial, marketing, sales and people management in the assigned territory: Romania/Serbia/Bulgaria/Croatia/Slovenia/Bosnia all together called SEE. Responsible for achieving or overachieving sales and profitability targets in SEE markets, P&L Management. Coaches and develops the teams, coordinates all the support functions, actively cooperates with the regional commercial functions.

  1. Strategy & Planning                                                                                                                 
  • Ensures the development of country strategic and operating plans and budgets that meet or exceed goals while optimizing the Allergan Group position in the local market.
  • Monitors the market in order to identify prospective clients and new business, investment and profit opportunities.
  • Prepares, in conjunction with sales teams, cost and profit budget and plans, submits to, and discusses with management
  • Develops resourcing plans to ensure effective operational delivery of sales against targeted levels; determines appropriate adjustments to resource allocation plan to achieve targets
  • Oversees the creation of country/sub-cluster level plans for cross-countries support function.
  • Co-ordinates local support functions to optimize execution of agreed business plans.  Ensure the development, alignment, and leveraging of strategies for marketing, distribution, logistics, regulatory, sales, finance, HR and communication, in order to grow the business in a constantly changing and competitive environment.


  1. Commercial/financial success                                                                                   
  • Is accountable for the results of own market and for assessing commercial performance and market trends in own market
  • Provides input to the Business Heads.  Provides support to Countries to execute agreed business plan to ensure expected product and business performance. 
  • Develops long-term relationships with selected external and internal Customers to facilitate the achievement of short- and long-term sales targets.
  • Use best endeavors to promote and extend the business of the Company and of the Allergan Group and protect its interests and reputation on the relevant markets.


  1. Leading people                                                                                                           
  • Leads, supports, and develops the in-market leadership team enabling them to fulfil their potential
  • Establishes, reviews and recommends changes for organizational structure and areas of responsibility so that the structure within the country maximizes organizational performance
  • Leads activities around performance management, talent management, motivation, development and succession planning for local Allergan employees.
  • Ensure that a BOLD culture of ethics, integrity and compliance is embedded in all business practices
  1. External relationships                                                                                       
  • Manages the external reputation of the company and raising its profile in line with strategy
  • Seeks local business development and partnership opportunities and interacts with the region Business Directors. 
  • Ensures the development of a broad network of productive relationships with key contacts, opinion leaders, authorities, regulatory authorities and agencies, payers, industry associations, trade, academic, and patient care groups.
  • Acts as primary Allergan spokesperson for the media and represents a positive image of the organization in all external communications and PR activities.


  1. Other                                                                                                                      
  • Ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ensures that decisions are enforced in order for the business to achieve its objectives.
  • Takes overall responsibility for ensuring all country operations are conducted in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, codes of practice and Allergan policies. Chairs national compliance committee, responsible for setting annual compliance objectives and implementing them. Ensures a comprehensive compliance program is maintained.
  • Takes personal responsibility for conducting own activities on behalf of the company consistent with a high standard of business ethics and in compliance with the laws and regulations that govern our activities.

  • University Degree or equivalent (preferably Business/Marketing)
  • 5 years of Marketing & Sales experience, Leading business, Country Manager role
  • Experience in leading cross-market teams
  • Experience of Pharmaceutical / Healthcare industry
  • Sales and/or Sales Management experience
  • Fluency in English (written and verbal) - Upper-Intermediate, any other SC region language is an advantage
  • Project management skills
  • Good analytical skills

  • Ensure to keep up with developments in the area of expertise, particularly facial anatomy.

  • Ability to travel. Approximately 80% of time will be spent in the field
