The team is looking for a talented and experienced individual to lead the marketing and commercial activities of Venclexta in AML Through innovative tactics and a team-oriented approach, the candidate will contribute to AbbVie solidifying itself as a leader in Hematology/Oncology. This position is based in Montreal (Saint-Laurent) and reports to the Marketing Manager Hematology/Oncology.

Key responsibilities

  • Review the strategies identified by the Global brand plan, to craft the Canadian Affiliate’s brand strategies and implement & measure the aligned tactics.
  • Manage and strategically spend the advertising and promotion budget.
  • Work in close collaboration with the Forecasting team to deliver accurate and timely output.
  • Communicate strategic goals, positioning, messaging and tactical plans to internal customers, field sales force and external agencies.
  • Analyze market issues and opportunities and communicate findings to brand team members and to senior management.
  • Plan and develop sales promotional materials and coordinate with cross-functional partners.
  • Ensure successful collaboration between agency of record and AbbVie internal partners (advertising, AbbVie Care, patient relations, Business Technology Solutions and AbbVie Medical Institute).

Education / Experience required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Science or related field is required.
  • Relevant marketing experience with proven track record within the biotech/pharmaceutical industry:
      • Brand management experience within a relevant therapeutic area is a strength (minimum of two years).
      • Oncology/hematology experience is preferred; knowledge of hematological malignancies is a definite asset.
  • Ability to think and plan strategically (i.e., work plans, activities, timelines, targeting) and operating with execution excellence.
  • Understanding of digital/virtual programs deployment is required.

Essential skills and abilities:

  • Advanced French and English language proficiency (oral and written).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Must be at ease with technology (the use of various tools/systems to perform day-to-day tasks). Experience with Veeva is an asset.
  • Travel required about 30% of the time.
  • Valid driver’s license and passport.

  • Prioritize decisions and activities to ensure efficient use of resources and address critical issues impacting the brand.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to the different stakeholders; adapt key messages to the audience, drive and manage projects, and propose new and innovative marketing solutions.
  • Work effectively in a matrix structure and be a strong team collaborator.
  • Create a learning environment, open to suggestions and experimentation for improvement.
  • Embrace the ideas of others and nurture innovation.
