Scientist I - Parenterals
North Chicago, Illinois Req ID 2212222 Category Research and Development Division AbbVieThe Parenteral and Eyecare Operations S&T organization is responsible for the technical transfer and support of marketed and pipeline injectable products. This person will generate and analyze precise, reliable, and reproducible data in a timely manner, under the direction of a more senior scientific leader. This work may include support of both drug product process and analytical testing activities, and will support the qualification and calibration process for the labs. The person will also demonstrate experimental precision and should possess general understanding of core disciplines supporting parenteral processes.
- Perform routine tasks competently and independently, and generate reliable and consistent results.
Demonstrate technical proficiency in his/her field. - Analyze and critique results, noting significant deviations.
- Troubleshoot experiments and instrumentation.
- Learn and understand new experimental techniques.
- Demonstrate skill in multiple techniques and appropriately modify protocols, as required, to suit the changing needs of research or development sciences.
- Place data in proper scientific context by consulting and citing relevant literature.
- Impact projects predominantly through lab and/or pilot plant based activities.
- Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, appropriate handling of materials, controlled drug and radioactive compounds, GxP compliance, and animal care where applicable.
- Bachelor’s Degree in science or engineering, or equivalent education, with typically 5 or more years’ experience or Master’s Degree or equivalent education with 2 years of experience.
- Theoretical and practical knowledge to carry out job function.
