PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:

This position supervises the transfer pricing (TP) process for AbbVie’s international affiliates, including more than 75 countries. 

As a field of specialty finance, transfer pricing is an area that is becoming increasingly complex and offers a rewarding learning experience.  This job offers close interaction with and exposure to other specialty finance groups, such as Treasury, Tax, Custom, Inter-company Margin Accounting, and Corporate Entity Planning and Analysis groups. Additionally, given its function of supporting affiliates’ daily and annual pricing requests, the position also provides close contact with general accounting finance areas, such as Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Reporting, and Cost Accounting, and customer service department.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Assist the Manager of International Pricing in the following:

  1. Coordinate annual development and implementation of all AbbVie billing prices from all sources to all destinations. Including publishing the Transfer prices in SAP, Product Information Record (PIR), Financial Drop Shipments (FDS), Inter-company TOLL management and Re-invoicing table maintenance. 
  1. Support AbbVie Regulatory in the preparation of a new product launch, by setting up transfer prices for the purpose of product registration in various countries.
  1. Support Corporate Tax, as well as the affiliates, in replying to audit questions arising in the course of transfer price reviews by the US IRS or other oversea authorities.
  1. Monitor the TP requests sent to TP group email, assign the work to direct report, and ensure the transfer prices are accurately communicated to all parties.  This involves a substantial amount of data exchange and system interface. In addition, ensure that the prices in all systems are consistent with those of AbbVie Global Transfer Pricing.
  1. Support stock transfer process and react quickly to all requests for transfer prices to facilitate all product shipments.
  1. Liaison with system support team to enhance TP systems. Lead the meeting with IT for requirement discussion. Complete UAT testing and report any issues identified during testing.
  1. Update transfer pricing procedures, training materials and power user manuals in accordance with the changes of tax rules, transfer pricing methodologies, processes, and system functionalities.
  1. Assist in Notification of Financial Change/Product Financial Flow process.

 

ACCOUNTABILITY / SCOPE:

  • The transfer prices need to accomplish the overall goals of the transfer price policy as directed by Corporate Tax.
  • Transfer prices directly affects local entity profitability and tax/customs exposure.
  • Position has responsibility to administer transfer prices under the review of the Manager of Global Transfer Pricing within the scope of the transfer pricing policy established and approved by Senior Management and Corporate Tax.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting. CPA or MBA a plus
  • 6-8 years of progressive and related experience
  • Strong financial, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills with all levels of management
  • Self-starter with ability to operate independently, drive process improvements and operate with speed and agility
  • Proficient with excel
  • Knowledge of SAP and TM1 a plus
