Summary:

Analytical R&D is seeking an experienced scientist with expertise in chromatography, automation, and CMC development to lead a group to support HPLC method development of small molecules and biologics with automation and in-silico techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with partners to systematically screen and develop chromatographic methods to support the development of small molecule and biologics drug candidates. 
  • Leverage cutting-edge automation tools and data mining/in-silico techniques to probe key development questions and build a robust foundational knowledge base.
  • Lead research and initiatives independently for short- and long-term organizational objectives.
  • Supervise/mentor a team of scientists and evaluate the performance of those individuals. Account for effective team performance.
  • Communicate clearly and build lasting partnerships across functional boundaries.
Qualifications:

Basic:

  • Bachelors, Masters, or PhDs with 12+ (BS), 8+ (MS), and 3+ (Ph.D.) years of experience in pharmaceutical or related industry. Preferred educational background includes but is not restricted to Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Sound understanding of chromatography in at least one area (small molecules or biologics) with proven track records. Experience in chromatographic method development and troubleshooting. Strong knowledge of using Fusion®, Drylab®, or Chromsword® is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience and active interest in automation, hardware/instrument assembly, and system configuration. Experience in setting up high throughput separation platforms is a plus.
  • Active interest in evaluating and implementing new hardware/software platforms to improve capability and productivity.
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated record of building lasting partnerships across functional boundaries.
  • Strong record of successfully influencing key stakeholders and collaborators to drive decisions. Experience in mentoring junior scientists and improving organizational efficiency.
  • Demonstrate creative “out-of-the-box” thinking to solve complex problems and champion new technologies to drive scientific excellence.
