Senior Project Manager, Medical Affairs

  • Purpose:

    Describe the primary goals, objectives or functions or outputs of this position.

    This role is responsible for supporting the USMO Medical Program Manager (MPM) and Portfolio Lead (PL) in support of the operational activities of their Therapeutic Area (TA). This role will work to execute on a broad range of activities to ensure execution of the tactical plan.  This role will support multiple MPMs and TAs and provide a broad range of experience across the teams.  Included in this scope is contract scoping/drafting, financial planning, workshop facilitation, meeting logistics, and maintaining dashboards and calendars.     

    Responsibilities:

    List up to 10 main responsibilities for the job. Include information about the accountability and scope.

    • Work with vendors and Therapeutic Area (TA) partners to scope and contract established and repeat tactics.  Establish and collect metrics for those activities.
    • Drive initiative success through proactive timeline management regarding contracting, invoicing and accruals in partnership with the GMA Medical Project Office. 
    • Execute sponsorships and TA activities for regional congresses.
    • Support Medical Program Managers in planning workshops to support annual processes (gap assessment, medical functional plan, tactical and financial planning).
    • Where applicable – support US regional field meeting logistics and National Field Directors.
    • Establish and maintain an event calendar for the supported TAs.
    • Support generation of monthly dashboards.
    • Provide input to financial LBEs related to above activities.
    • Participate in USMO projects where needed.

     

     


  • Qualifications:

    List required and preferred qualifications (up to 10). Include education, skills and experience.

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical, scientific or business-related field is required.  Preference for MBA.

    • Minimum of 10+ years of work experience with 3-5+ years of operational and/or project management experience preferably in pharmaceutical industry.

    • Applied knowledge of project management tools and processes (e.g. management of integration, scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk, stakeholder management and procurement).

    • Confidence working with Microsoft Suite (excel, PowerPoint, word, SharePoint) required.

    • Experience with project management, budget management, contracting, and dashboard management preferred.

    • Consistently communicates in an accurate, emotionally intelligent, concise and inclusive manner.

    • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines, and to adapt quickly to change in priorities.

    • Builds strong relationships with peers and cross functionally with partners outside of the team to solve problems and drive results.

Significant Work Activities: Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day)
