Director, Medical Systems Excellence - Field Tools & Analytics

The Director of GMA Field Tools will provide strategy and direction to deliver harmonized, efficient, timesaving CRM tools which enhance the Global Field Medical teams’ ability to engage with HCPs face-to-face and digitally. Is the primary point of contact with the Global Medical Field Excellence team to coordinate the translation of cross-TA business objectives and requirements into the global field tools solutions.  This role facilitates and leads the collaboration efforts with Field Medical Excellence, BTS IR and International BTS to develop and implement global field medical tool enhancement and new solutions.   Partners with Scientific Communications and Training team to provide functional requirements for The Academy platform. Role is responsible for driving the new Ways of Working across Field Medical Excellence, Area/Affiliate Customer Excellence, Scientific Communication and Training, Area/Affiliate Medical Operations, Affiliate CRM/Digital Managers and Global Learning to enhance the cross-functional management of customer expectations, enable consistent, clear communications, and increase the pull through and adoption of the CRM global guidance and global field tools capabilities and processes.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Leads and coordinates the collaboration efforts needed to assist in the deployment and ongoing enhancements to the Global Field Medical CRM tools. Partner with Global Medical Field Excellence on user acceptance testing efforts for releases.
  • Leads with an open mind and a curious mindset. Provides a different perspective and brings unique ideas to the table to address business issues and ways to enhance the CRM global field tools.
  • Manages the prioritization of cross-TA initiatives and partners with the Global and Area teams to actively manage customer expectations.
  • Coordinates cross-TA best practice sharing in the execution of global CRM field tools enhancements.
  • Co-create a multi-year CRM global field tools roadmap.
  • Maintains a global perspective and a focus on solutions that are easy to access and use, optimizing the customer experience with technology.
  • Remain current in GMA related regulations, AbbVie policies, and new regulations affecting GMA.  Accountable for ensuring compliance principles/issues (i.e., data privacy) are managed with cross-functional partners (legal, OEC, etc.) and are built into GMA systems. 
Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or analytic discipline required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in project management or business transformation role, IT consulting or technology implementation role.
  • 5-7 years of experience with pharmaceutical in field team processes and tools (Veeva CRM) across a diverse range of therapeutic areas. 
  • Supervisory/leadership experience managing multiple technology projects.  Experience in leading in a multi-task environment, as well as in a virtual and highly matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to consider multiple perspectives and alternatives when co-creating technology solutions.
  • Excellent leadership, self-management, and organizational skills; able to manage workload, set personal and team priorities and adjust as needed; financial acumen competence. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate and negotiate projects and priorities across functions and/or organizations; proven experience in situations of conflict resolution, problem solving and crisis management.
  • Must exhibit strategic thought and leadership with the ability to think and lead at the big picture level as well as the ability to translate strategic objectives into specific initiatives and manage successful execution.
  • Strong business acumen: ability to think strategically and translate a strategy to an innovative and implementable plan.
  • Demonstrated ability to set and execute on strategies with global and cross-functional and departmental impact.
  • Global experience preferred.
