AbbVie’s Information Research (IR) group has a mission to unlock information that makes cures possible. Within IR, the AbbVie Library Information Science (LIS) team builds tools and provides services that help AbbVie scientists interact with, manage, and consume knowledge from scientific literature to foster innovation in drug discovery and development. LIS is a global organization, with a large presence in the Lake County headquarters as well as other research sites on the east and west coast. We leverage leading technologies and methods to provide AbbVie scientists with our industry’s best capabilities around literature-based knowledge discovery.

Job Role:

The Digital Marketing and Communications Specialist will join the Library Training & Marketing Team. This role will createvisual designs and marketing content that supports AbbVie’s Information Research (IR) and Library Information Science (LIS) business initiatives across digital channels.

An important aspect in this role is to take highly complex scientific data and simplify it through a compelling story that resonates with AbbVie wide audiences. You will need to understand and interpret brand, business, LIS services and transform them into innovative, creative, and result-oriented digital solutions. You will ensure design solutions are customer-focused, intuitive, and meet all brand standards. You will plan digital marketing projects from inception through to delivery that support AbbVie LIS teams strategies. You will manage multiple projects simultaneously from initiation through launch and post-launch activities. You will be responsible for communication planning, newsletter creation, and project managing product launches, brand marketing, digital campaigns as well as organizing virtual and on-site events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Successful experience creating visual design across, email, social, website, and newsletters
  • Excellent writing skills to craft interesting newsletters on LIS tools, services, and events
  • Promotion and communication on LIS training courses, tools, and services
  • Continually update marketing content for the Training & Marketing Team
  • Plan and organize IR and LIS trainings, roadshows, virtual and in-person events
  • Proficient in Adobe Premier Pro, Illustrator, InDesign for creation of logos, videos, infographics, and digital media
  • Strong SharePoint knowledge and ability to build sites including YouTube like training pages
  • Ability to simplify highly complex data to tell a compelling story through digital media
  • Innovative ways to identify and build customer base to improve the LIS customer journey
  • Serve as the voice of the customer and provide internal feedback on how we can better serve them to maximize customer goals
  • Maintain a deep understanding of LIS products & services to speak with customers about the most relevant features/functionality and resources to meet their goals
  • Project Management experience with multi-channel digital campaigns marketing/product launches.
  • Ability to change course quickly and work well under tight deadlines
  • Achieve great results while overwhelmingly demonstrating key AbbVie values and behaviors.
  • 2+ years’ experience with visual design, or creating marketing content
  • Proficient in Adobe Premier Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign for creation of logos, videos, and multimedia
  • Experience using Project Management tools – example - Jira
  • Possesses editorial mindset that is curious to understand what audiences consume and how to optimize path from lead to converted customer
  • Experience with ethnographic research, conducting focus groups, and creating surveys
  • Training experience a plus
  • Knowledge of customer mapping and the customer journey
  • Assists with various projects as assigned by direct supervisor
  • We are seeking a highly collaborative, supportive, curious, up-beat, positive, high-energy, and team focused individual to join our Library Training and Marketing Team
