Position Description

Abbvie, a leader in women's healthcare, is seeking a Marketing Manager, WH Consumer for their flagship oral contraceptive (OC) brand, Lo Loestrin Fe. In this role, the successful candidate would support and lead projects that span the consumer acquisition funnel driving awareness, consideration, conversion, and engagement for Lo Loestrin Fe. Responsibilities would include the design, development and execution of brand strategies and tactical initiatives that support the consumer commercial plan.  Partnering with cross-functional teams (Medical, Regulatory, Legal, MABI, PA, Customer Experience, Legal, OEC) to identify consumer insights, opportunities and develop messaging and tactics to address key challenges.  Executing key projects in areas of website, CRM, advertising (TV, OLV, social, digital, search, and other opportunities), budget management and agency partnership leadership.  Working closely with Public Affairs on key initiatives such as celebrity and influencer partnerships.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Working effectively in a high paced, integrated brand team environment
  • Working with cross functional partners to enhance brand messaging and strengthen promotional claims within the label (where appropriate)
  • Collaborating with peers on other Women’s Health brands to build opportunities and ensure cross-portfolio consistency
  • Generating and analyzing Consumer data/insights to advance patient segmentation and tactical execution
  • Setting strategic direction for agencies and managing projects and agencies within time and budget, including the development of message maps, measurement plans and optimization of campaign ecosystem
  • Assessing market dynamics and competitive intelligence for contraceptive market and developing multi-channel competitive and market shaping and competitive strategies
  • Supporting media plan development to reach key customer segments and embrace “test and learn” opportunities
  • Establishing a highly effective collaborative working relationship with the Women’s Health sales team to ensure that field insights are related into marketing tactics as aligned to the consumer strategies
  • Effectively communicating brand vision, strategy and objectives to internal cross-functional partners and sales leadership to drive brand business objectives

This role can sit out of the Madison, NJ or Lake County, IL office 

Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • 5 years working experience, in a pharmaceutical environment
  • Relevant brand marketing experience: consumer marketing experience preferred
  • Competency in core marketing skills such as creative development, positioning, optimization across the marketing mix
  • Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization to drive alignment to brand objectives, including timeline and budget management
  • Ability to understand medical/clinical aspects of a pharmaceutical product and its application to marketing strategy and tactical execution
  • Strong written and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with field travel and participating in local market and patient immersions, pulling insights through to execution

Preferred:

  • Experience working with and managing multiple external agencies including advertising, digital, database agencies and internal cross functional partners
  • Direct-to-Consumer mass media (TV, Social, Web/Digital) experience
  • CRM experience
  • Experience leading or supporting strategic and tactical planning
  • Ability to influence senior management
Significant Work Activities: Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day)
Travel: Yes, 10 % of the Time
