Business Continuity Management Lead

The Operations and Enterprise Systems Business Continuity Management Lead is responsible for developing and implementing a framework for identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential threats before they disrupt business operations. The BCM Lead is responsible for ensuring the organization can monitor and manage threats and risks to availability, respond, recover, and restore effectively in line with corporate priorities. The BCM lead leverages analytics for influencing strategic and day-to-day decision making and managing and executing the Business Continuity program. This role requires that the BCM program lead facilitate the BCM program across Business Technology Organizations by working with all internal and external stakeholders. The BCM Lead provides guidance for the management of business continuity risks and improves AbbVie’s adherence to regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate Policies and procedures.
- Design and establish services that engage and support business continuity requirements from internal customer groups within AbbVie.
- Plan, build, run and manage the organizations BCM program operational framework
- Understand current regulatory environment and related implications to business system recovery services, and present AbbVie approaches and messaging at internal training and awareness sessions.
- Management of the reporting schedule Program metrics, key risk indicators (KRIs), benchmarking, and program scorecard for all disciplines of the BCM program.
- Work in conjunction with the BTS risk management function to identify and assess business disruption risks and their impacts associated with AbbVie’s current business practices and plans.
- Accountability for determining how best to design, build and manage the Business Continuity Management program.
- Coordinate and facilitate cross-enterprise BCM exercises, including those with suppliers and business partners
- Leads and advises the organization in conducting risk assessments and business impact analyses; in developing appropriate business disruption risk mitigation strategies and controls; and in creating, implementing, exercising, and maintaining BCM and disaster recovery plans
- Develop long-term and effective relationships across BTS and business stakeholders to understand and anticipate appropriate business Continuity needs and requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree typically in Computer Science, Information Science, or related discipline preferred. Master’s Degree or MBA preferred.
- Experience at managing both direct and indirect team members.
- Previously built and executed Business Continuity programs with a minimum of 12 years’ experience. International experience is a plus
- A combination of strong technical and broad management skills.
- Experience at managing both direct and indirect team members. Ability to lead and implement change.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively share concise messages for complex technical problems and to communicate with both IT and business stakeholders. Ability to interact with all levels of management across divisions and functions.
- Strong negotiation and decision skills.
- Preferred Knowledge of Global Pharma business and regulatory environment.
- Bachelor's Degree with 9 years’ experience; Master's Degree with 8 years’ experience; PhD with 4 years’ experience.
