Summary:  The Director, Communications reports to the Executive Director of Communications and Branding.

Working closely with the global communications and PR team, the Director will take an active role balancing communications and media relations efforts on behalf of Allergan Aesthetics, with a 50 percent dedication to Aesthetics R&D communications, to support and advance the global reputation and awareness of the company.

In addition, the Director will support proactive and reactive media engagement, including executive visibility and industry and business thought leadership. Additional responsibilities include crisis communications, business development transactions and global reputation initiatives. The Director will be comfortable working with senior leadership and functional leadership to advise and lead communications for critical issues.

The Director will lead and collaborate with communications and brand PR agencies to drive creative “pitch-able” content and story angles on behalf of reputation building and promotion of the company. Partner with internal and digital communications leaders to maximize the visibility of strategies, where appropriate.

• Bachelor's degree in communication, public relations, journalism, related field or equivalent from an accredited college or university, and 10+ years of progressive experience
