Finance Shared Services (FSS) organization was established as one of the key elements of new operating model for AbbVie to provide accurate financial accounting and reporting for all affiliates and business units. The FSS center for EMEA region is based in Krakow, Poland and is serving as a chief accounting and controllership function for all affiliates and manufacturing plants in the region, providing support in US GAAP accounting, tax and statutory compliance and reporting and in selected FP&A and order to cash processes. The center was established in 2013.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Intern in Indirect Tax Accounting.
The duties include preparing, reviewing and filling tax returns in EMEA countries, as well as supporting Indirect Tax Accounting Team. A driven, energetic person with experience in indirect tax compliance/ reporting and accounting, able to act as focal point between different stakeholders and meet fixed deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Support of Team Members in preparation of tax returns for third-party countries
- Participate in activities in completeness, accuracy and compliance with Abbvie procedures
- Provide assistance for tax audits and answer to inquiries from various taxing jurisdictions based on ERP of the entity
- Support Indirect Tax Accounting Leads in review all tax related balance sheet accounts reconciliations
- Gather tax relevant data on ad hoc basis, based on request from stakeholders
- Support in KPI calculations for selected indicators
- Assist with other day to day VAT compliance tasks as the need arises
- Conduct archiving controls over tax documentation for EMEA team
- Support improvement opportunities in the area of VAT working under with Team members guidance
- During Bachelor’s or first year Master's Degree with an accounting and/or tax orientation is a must
- Professional proficiency of English is a requirement
- Fluency in Polish is essential
- Practical computer skills, particular experience with Excel
- Analytical, problem solving approach
- Written and verbal skills enabling effective communication with stakeholders
- Knowledge and experience with SAP is nice to have
