Senior Cyber Security Engineer - OSINT

AbbVie is looking for a talented Security Engineer to join our Cyber Threat Intelligence team.

This role will focus on the design, building, and automating of a new open source intelligence-based service component, and will leverage your strengths in scripting and data analytics to automatically collect, normalize, and analyze intelligence artifacts across multiple sources to generate an assessment product supporting different intelligence requirements.

Along with building the service, you will collaborate with other members of the team on different intelligence initiatives, such as threat modeling and malware analysis, correlating indicators and behaviors to campaigns and activity groups, and briefing stakeholders throughout the organization.


  • Bachelor's Degree with 7 years’ experience or master’s degree with 6 years’ experience or PhD with 2 years’ experience in information security discipline, ideally including incident handling experience. Background in life sciences or work experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
  • Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience in modern DevOps environments, cloud platforms and automation tools (i.e. Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet), Python or other scripting languages, and exposure to containers and platforms.
  • Experience in cybersecurity is not required, but ideal candidates should have a strong interest in developing cybersecurity expertise, as this role will plunge you into this space.
  • Candidates should also possess strong written and oral communications skills, and have some exposure to communicating at different levels of an organization.

This position is part of AbbVie’s Information Security & Risk Management (ISRM) team.  We are here to put our partners in a position to succeed. We do it by providing the knowledge, tools, and support they need to effectively use data and technology while also effectively managing risk.
