Director, Global Commercial Development - Planning

This role will be responsible for organizing and planning key global commercial development (GCD) strategic planning workstreams and assigned commercial planning activities related to pipeline commercialization.  This global role reports directly to the Associate VP of Global Commercial Development and works closely with the VP of Global Strategy and Pipleline for Allergan GCD franchise leads.

  • Lead the continued development/refinement of the early commercial planning framework including 1-7-5, to guide and coach early brand teams on the process and tools for strategy development/build from identification of disease opportunities through registrational trials.  
  • Works with Global GCD team to plan, coordinates and co-facilitate early commercial plan (ECP) development workshops and deliverables through all stages of pharma and device development leading up to transition to on-market brand teams and approval
  • Lead and coordinate alongside GCD, global launch readiness reviews (LRR) activities, across all products and brands
  • Provides program management support to Global Allergan Aesthetics and GCD for annual Strategy Long-Range Plan, GCD activities for the annual Financial Long-range plan and GCD activities for the annual portfolio planning process
  • Proactively identify, communicate, and manage planning and execution risks across assigned activities
  • Enable effective collaboration with cross functional partners involved with the strategic planning cycles, ensuring plan and milestones are met
  • For assigned Enterprise Critical R&D coordinates deliverables and supports commercial leader in driving select brand strategy deliverable team deliverables to outcome
  • Lead GCD development and collaboration initiatives including onboarding and training, brand excellence, pipeline commercialization and best practice sharing
  • Lead the strategy and execution of GCD communication including GCD Portal, GCD education materials (vision/mission), leadership updates/messages, success stories, and other resources to drive consistent and transparent
  • Lead planning and execution of GCD events including town halls, offsite, seasonal events, training & collaboration
  • Certified on 1-7-5 framework and early commercial plan framework
  • Well-developed communication skills – both written and oral Well-developed strategic thinking and leadership skills Preferred:
  • Experience in stages of drug development, including being a part of a launch team - medical device development (all stages) is a plus
  • Experience with both global and regional teams in the pharmaceutical and medical device industry industry
Significant Work Activities: Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day)
