Business System Analyst (12 Month Contract)

The Business System Analyst is an individual contributor working on the development, maintenance, support and enhancement of business applications and at times providing specialized technical or business knowledge to Information Technology projects.

 

The role is responsible for partnering with a business functional area, learning their processes, and finding opportunities whereby technology can help drive efficiencies. The incumbent will be instrumental in the development, identification and implementation of system modifications that will improve productivity within the system(s) applicable for the business function that he/she is supporting.

  • Consult with business functional areas to develop understanding of the varied and complex business needs supported by the system(s) and determine how changing business needs will affect the system(s).
  • Understand the role of the system in the big picture and provide ideas and recommendations regarding the evolution of the system(s).
  • Develop and maintain value-adding relationships with stakeholders, both technical and business.
  • Respond to questions and influence users regarding current and potential system inputs, processes, and outputs. Conduct research and analysis into evolutions of the systems supporting business processes. Develop detailed business user requirements, system documentation, work flow procedures, and data modeling. Negotiate plans, time frames and trade-offs while ensuring client understands the final results of the project.
  • Review and route requested system changes and develop detailed specifications for implementation.
  • Ensure current and accurate system documentation, coordinate and or perform testing of system modifications, both validated and non-validated systems.
  • Provide systems expertise and support system training, educational tools and materials.
  • Work effectively with team/group to accomplish organisational goals.  Actively participate in client and team meetings by offering suggestions.  Provide input to project planning.
  • Partner with appropriate support personnel related to data integrity checks and controls of the systems.
  • Help drive internal BTS processes related to demand/release management and SDLC.
  • Ensure systems implemented meet projected timelines, customer expectations and comply with relevant Corporate and Divisional policies and procedures.

 

Quality

  • Report any adverse event within 24 hours as per Allergan Aesthetics’(AA) policies and procedures
  • Support AA’s Quality Management System and internal auditing processes.

 

Workplace Health & Safety

  • Proactively participate in AA’s WHS programs, adhere to policies and promote a safe work environment at all times.

 

General

  • Adhere to AA’s internal codes of conduct and compliance processes.

 

 


Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with minimum 2 years’ experience or Master’s degree in Information Systems or related field

Skills and Abilities
Experience in Software Development Lifecycle for developing, implementing and supporting information technology platforms.
Knowledge of and experience in managing the integration of systems.
Strong data management capabilities, relational database experiences preferred.
Knowledge of and experience in Office 365, Salesforce.com and SQL an advantage.
Excellent interpersonal skills and well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical skills.
Experience managing projects.
