Job Summary

Under General Direction from the Associate Director of Engineering this position has responsibility to provide Supervision of the Engineering staff and Project Management for Engineering projects, facility related projects, and facility equipment projects.

Provide day to day engineering support for other groups at the Irvine Campus.

Job Details

This position is responsible for one or more of the following duties or activities:

• Plans and Directly manages complex cross functional projects that may include external resources and contracted companies.

• Works closely with other non-engineering functions to gain resource commitments and resolve issues.

• Formulates and gains approval for overall project plan in consultation with senior management and stakeholders.

• Monitors progress to plan and implements corrective actions or contingencies as needed to maintain commitments.

• Provides management with regular project status, variances to plan, and identification of corrective actions.

• Participate in the design, fabrication factory acceptance testing, and installation of all site utilities systems such as Plant Steam, RODI, Clean Steam, Clean Dry Air, WFI, HVAC, Liquid Waste neutralization, etc.

• Provide day to day engineering support to Irvine Campus.

• Manage engineering contractors.

• Revise and maintain engineered as-built drawings for engineered systems.

• Support system owners in the assessment and planned replacement of aging equipment and instruments.

• Ensure compliance with Global Engineering Standards and Procedures

• Generating appropriate purchasing (CE’s) and documentation for Engineering

• Provide input to the senior management on the Annual Capital Strat Plan, and Capital Budget.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

• Assist AbbVie in achieving environmental, health, and safety goals by working safely and observing all general plant and department safety policies.

• Perform all assigned duties according to departmental SOP’s.

• Remain current on proper procedures by reviewing current, revised, and new SOP’s relating to the job and to the department.

• Complete and remain current with all required cGMP and safety training.

• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Incumbent has full authority to make decisions and/or take actions required to carry out job duties.  Allergan internal requirements include compliance with ethics, environmental health and safety, financial, human resources, cGMP procedures, general business policies, requirements, and objectives. The incumbent must be willing to take temporary assignments as required.
