Program Manager - IT/M&A

Lead the planning, analysis, and execution of merger and acquisition (M&A) Information technology projects with a strategic impact to the Allergan Aesthetics Commercial business function.  This role will represent Allergan Aesthetics BTS in deal planning, options, & cost modeling.   This role will also partner with the M&A core leadership team to forecast the cost to integrate based on business decisions.  This role will include cross-functional engagement across the BTS organization and interfaces with AbbVie’s business leaders and the AbbVie Transition Office.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Oversees multiple types of activities associated with Mergers & Acquisitions (M&As) that require Business Technology Services (BTS) support.  M&A deal types include: R&D Venture, Co-Promotion/Co-Collaboration, Co-Development/Co-Commercialization, Carve-Out Product Acquisitions, Divesting Products and/or Sites, and Full Company Merger and Acquisition.
  • Supports business SMEs in defining the short, medium, and long-term operating model.
  • Connects with application SMEs to model out effort and cost to export, ingest or integrate data and merge applications.
  • Creates capabilities to ingest data or merge quickly into AbbVie BTO systems during “down-time” for integration speed/agility.
  • Enables BTS to create new capabilities to deliver optimal solutions rather than reactional, interim, or long-lead time integration projects
  • Once deal is funded, manages contractors or application vendors through full integration execution.
  • Sets deadlines, defines tasks, assigns responsibilities and resources, manages schedule and key milestones, and summarizes progress of project.  Ensures commitment to scope, schedule and budget are met.
  • Responsible for anticipating risks and issues, proactive risk mitigation and making recommendations to business and IT leadership to achieve successful outcomes. 
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable BTS, Corporate, and Divisional Policies and Procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring regulatory requirements related to pharmaceutical and medical devices are followed during M&A activities.

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Computer Science or related discipline: Experience in project management, business systems analysis, software development or deployment, and experience managing projects.
  • Bachelor's Degree with 8 years experience; Master's Degree with 7 years experience; PhD with 3 years experience.
  • Prior experience with leading merger and acquisition projects supporting the commercial business in the Pharmaceutical and/or Medical Device Industry.
  • Prior exposure to a broad set of IT skills, including software licensing, contracts, security, IS compliance, infrastructure, and applications.
  • Mindset on how to potentially create repeatable services to accelerate “M&A” type transactions
  • Prior experience with business processes and technology platforms servicing customer service, customer relationship management, ecommerce, marketing, and data analytics (Salesforce, Veeva, Snowflake, Thoughtspot, Power BI) preferred.
  • Shows high level of initiative, has critical reasoning and problem-solving skills, and is willing to roll up their sleeves and work with others.
  • Must be good in Task Management, delivers quality work on time, translates planning into action by following applicable established procedures or methodologies, proactively monitors and controls task status by collecting and analyzing task data to anticipate and address barriers, appropriately communicates and resolves or escalates any problems that arise
  • Comfortable in dealing with ambiguity in a fast-paced, complex environment with the ability to keep the team focused on business objectives.
  • Must have the ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and management, capable of successful formal and informal communication, speaks and writes clearly and understandably at the right level
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders, key stakeholders, business, and technology functions. Ability to lead effectively in a cross-functional matrix environment.
  • Proficient with Excel, Visio, Powerpoint, MS project etc.
